Get on Mane

He'll go wherever he's paid more and will play more with the best teammates and setup for success.

You're right and in all honesty, why should there be? Players are employees not fans. Any one of us would leave a job for a competitor offering more money to do the same thing. It's daft to expect football players to do anything different.

My response exactly when someone is wringing their hands whining about loyalty and "owing" things to the club, usually followed by terms like "money grabbing c**t". It's maddening.

Mane is a brilliant player at least in Liverpool system. Still I don't want to have one of their main players and to be fair this whole conversation is really unnecessary anyway. He would absolutely not move to a direct rival. Probably wants to see another league anyway.

He's old to be joining Chelsea if we want to win the PL. How can someone not be good enough for Liverpool after a long career there and be good enough for us? Maybe for one season I guess but i don't think that's the way to build a premier league winning team.

He's leaving on his own account, not because he's not good enough for Pool.

I'm not even really advocating this signing, because I think it's unrealistic and because I would prefer a younger option like Sterling, Dembele or Nkunku, but I don't get why many people are so against signing players from our rivals. I remember many people not wanting A. Cole or Cesc for that reason and look how that worked out... Or look at RVP to United.

For me it's extra sweet if we can snatch a brilliant player (and Mane is still an absolute top player) from a direct rival, because the bitterness of the rival fans, if he performs well is just too entertaining.

Maybe, same as Lewi is leaving Bayern on his own account. These guys don't leave unless they are slipping down the pecking order or there is something wrong with the contract negotiations. There's a good reason why at Chelsea its an annual contract if you are over 30.

I humbly disagree. In the main you are right of course. However, there are a handful out there that have principles. I believe Mane to be one of them.

I'd love for us to get him just to piss liverpool fans but I doubt it will happen. He's looking for a fat payout now that he is reaching the end of his career and that is probably the reason he is leaving liverpool, I doubt our club will be willing to offer him that much unless we manage to get Lukaku off our hands which is seeming unlikely.

He is on either £100k or £150k & was demanding £300k, Liverpool don’t want to pay him that much. Think it depends though; Liverpool value him at around £40m but Bayern only want to pay £25m.
