July 6, 20224 yr Well this is something. sterling will definitely help us. but we still are far from done. We still need more signings to especially at CB and I would like another attacker
July 6, 20224 yr Sterling will be an excellent signing- very happy that it is all pretty much wrapped up.

We paid more for Pulisic who couldn't buy a goal or even get a game in a weaker league. Sterling is the most exciting signing we've made in a long time and a big upgrade for us. 45mill plus and 325k wages for a player 1 injury away from his pace going and being as useful as Lukaku.
July 6, 20224 yr Fits the system, premier league proven… Just hope Silva can get the best out of him at LCB 😉

Eriksen would of been a shout, I think we've got an £80m player for £55m so its a decent deal and better than Raph or Richarlison and Cheaper initially We now need to address the defence and mid, If we can ship a couple out and or find another forward while we do, Great. Fingers crossed it doesn't end up like the Willian saga all the jazz no goals This Sterling transfer is individual from Rafinha, in that we will still sign Rafinha should he accept our bid as they both play opposite sides of the pitch. I don't think we were really that interested in Richarlison, if we was he would of come here for sure over Spurs. I do hope we fix the defence before we buy anyone else though, even one solid new centre back would be nice!

Why so negative, Sterling is head and shoulders above anything we currently have, and arguably one of England's best players over the past few years. Any player could be one injury away from being 'as useful as Lukaku', Sterling isn't JUST a pace merchant.

He also had a better successful pass % than all our forward players last season. I don't feel like he's anywhere near as limited as our current players. The fact he has explosive pace and speed WITH the ball at his feet is something we've missed a lot with Hazard, which is definitely one of his main abilities, but he does have other strings to his bow.

When Sane left, hw worked on his ability to cut in from the left. I can give you so many games where he has done this brilliantly. Spurs (in that epic CL game), Arsenal 0-2 City he scored a brilliant goal there (18-19), Brighton 0-5 City 2 seasons ago (got a hattrick). Sporting Lisbon 0-5 Man City last season. Honestly when he is running with the ball he is a menace and despite his small frame he is extremely strong and difficult to barge off the ball. Azpi notoriously seems to struggle against him.

I think he's a tad under rated, hence City not playing him. His stats as a wide forward are pretty good - scores 1 every 3 games, and he's also won the most penalties of any player since the Premier league was founded (23) which is purely down to his dribbling ability. For £45m he's a steal IMO.
July 6, 20224 yr I've always had the impression that he misses some sitters, but his goals and assists, or simply put end product exceeds anyone in our team. For £45M+ he is good business. We need a strong squad - not some avg players and a few stars. He is an upgrade to me. Suggests Timo or Pulisic days are numbered as how many inside left players do we need (that doesn't count CHO either).

July 6, 20224 yr He is an immediate improvement in our front line, so if this deal is finalised, I’ll be happy for it. One aspect of his game that is often forgotten is that he seems to get into good positions when a cross comes in. The times that we’ve crossed and there’s no one on the second post to get to the ball has been frustrating at times, Sterling does that quite well. However, I’d like Tuchel to cut his diving at the slightest in the penalty area, that’s something that really bothers me.
