This forum is a tier below football twitter when it comes to opinions.

It's actually shocking how people can consistently be so wrong about pretty much everything.

To be fair if he puts in a transfer request and the move still doesn’t happen then he will lose his loyalty bonus and be left in an awkward position with Leicester.

I personally think putting in a transfer request doesn’t guarantee anything, they generally go and see the manager face to face and let them know they would like to leave.

Everyone knows he wants the move, what’s stopping it is Chelsea agreeing a fee with Leicester.

We need to do this deal if we really want him.

Getting 90% of the way and then struggling to do the last 10% is not a done deal IMO.

We can pull out at any moment like we did with Kounde.

We are also playing Leicester next week so it’s not in their interest to get this deal done quickly unless we offer them money the Leicester board can’t refuse.

The longer this goes on I feel they will be more reluctant to sell as they won’t have a lot of time to find a replacement.

I’m not getting excited about anything unless we agree a fee with a club AND agree a salary with a player.

Wesley Fofana is about to hand in an official transfer request if there is no movement from Leicester. Fofana hopes this will push the move to Chelsea through as its stalling on price. #CFC (@siphillipssport)

Agreed but you forgot to add Fofana onto the list as he would comes this way if Trev went the other way.

Aye I did thar deliberately as Fabrizio did not say he would go to Leicester on loan as Parr of the deal, just that he may go on loan, so could be to a club other than Leicester. The two are likely linked but I was speculating if they are not.

If I was Leicester, I'd have spent the last month lining up a replacement centre back ... no way have they just sat on their hands while all this Fofana stuff has been playing out in the media ...

I reckon this one goes to the last day and the move falls through as we won't pay a record fee and Leicester wont settle for less.

what Leicester need is a rebuild. With the World Cup coming up you have extra time to prepare for potential signings in the January window. I don't believe they don't have any alternatives lined up for Fofana.

Am sure they do. Their scouting is I general impressive.

My point is I don't believe they climb down from wanting a record fee for a player with 5 years left on his deal, and I don't believe we will pay that much.

Our value is him is reported to be 60mill, theirs 85mill. Fofana feels our offer is fair but with no minimum fee nothing he can do about it.

What will happen now, Leicester know that he wants to leave and that they will get the full transfer fee without paying him any compensation for breach of contract.

We will continue to faff around because that's what we do. Meanwhile In the next few days PSG will step up and offer the money that Leicester want and, with him being French and all,  crash, bang wallop, it will all be done and finilased in under 24 hours with him holding a PSG shirt and a cheesy grin whilst we continue to look fools and idiots.

I rate Fofana and would be delighted if we signed him however if time is running out and/or money already spent is a factor then I'd reluctant pull out of this one and focus more on the other end of the park. If we don't get more goals out of our front line then it's another battle to avoid dropping put of the top four. That has to take priority.

Idiots spending £50m on a position we don't urgently need rather than getting a good CB.

Lol, yes i know. I was thinking of something else but i can't even remember that now. Lol

I am very sure the Leicester is probably putting finishing touches to Fofana's replacement and don't want to be ripped off by any club wanting a chunk of their gains. fofana for me is not a priority. With Azpi staying for 2 more years, between Azpi and Chalobah we will get by at least till January when we can re evaluate and reconsider if we need to buy

This is point exactly though. We are pushing hard for a possible world record CB..so it's pretty key. Of course sometimes deals don't happen so its good that we have got feelers out for a back up in case this deal doesn't happen....errr, errm!

Have seen it said that our focus this week is Auba, and next week is De Jong as Barca try to get their house in order and still insist De Jong takes a wage cut.

So we defintiely won't get any then as neither of those two targets have any intention of leaving

No transfer request but can rest him. I want to believe this will happen, so that’s smoke and fire from BR for me!

My guess is that Fofana stays at Leicester this window but remains unsettled and loses some form as a result. Then Leicester will probably regret not selling him for this large amount as they probably won't do any better.
