My guess is that Fofana stays at Leicester this window but remains unsettled and loses some form as a result. Then Leicester will probably regret not selling him for this large amount as they probably won't do any better.

Frustratingly when either Gerrard or Lampard are one of the first to be bombed, Rodgers will no doubt pop up at either Villa or Everton, so i doubt very much he'll even be at Leicester for much longer.

I imagine if Fofana had put a TR in Leicester wouldn't exactly reveal it. They would be looking for another player and lining them up. Thus keeping the cost down as the selling team don't know for sure Fofana is keen to leave.

Matt Law said Leicester is in financial trouble and they would have half of the money to use from transfers they generate. So if we strike a deal for 80m they would use 40m of it. This is why it could be really hard to succeed in this deal. He also thinks we haven't bid for 70 or 80, more like 50-60m...remains to be seen.

Sounds like we could pay them 40m + Chalobah, all happy?

I'd take that deal if we had kept Colwill. But as it is, we'd have to get another CB in as cover and he'd probably cost 20 million or more, so not sure if it's worth it.

Still got Ampadu at the club, and push comes to shove that big Dutch lad in the development squad could make up the numbers ...

Or offer cash plus Ampadu instead of Trev ?

On loan. Chalonah on loan and 60

Fair deal but they won't be happy to not have a long term solution.

Is he good enough to be trusted? Also didn't he play as a midfielder primarily last season?

I don't know how Mbuyamba's developement is going as I don't really follow the U23's, but he was on the bench for their last game and last season when TT called on some young players in the early rounds of the cup, he wasn't among them, so I don't think he's a serious option.

I would keep Chalobah if it was up to me 🙂

Laughing at what?

you can't see it in the preview but he reacted to this tweet with 😂😂🤦‍♂️

the tweet says that Fofana himself asked to be left out of the squad. While it's probably a decision made by Leicester because they are close to selling him.

Odd they would sell him so he can make his debut against them.

Best case I thought we pay 82mill for him and get him August 31st.

80m+ is a huge amount of money for this guy ?

if Morgan Gibbs-White is 44 million and Casemiro is 60 million

80 million for the best young defender in world football is a steal
