I probably did knee-jerk a bit by saying he wasn't good enough. At his age, mistakes will happen and he will likely get better. Still, from what I have seen of him, I don't yet see where this potential to be a star comes from. But like every signing we make that hasn't convinced me, I hope I am wrong.

That price tag scares the sh*t out of me, they just never seem to work out for us. Whenever we make these big money moves, I voice my concerns and fans are always telling me they are going to be amazing. Havertz is still not the player everybody was telling me he was going to be, Bakayoko was sh*t, Morata was sh*t, Lukaku was sh*t, Pulisic had a purple patch and has been sh*t since. All of these and more, fans were telling me how great they were and that I was missing something, and then it turns out the player wasn't all that after all. I'm bored of it.

Price tag is all relative to the market. So many folks are stuck on the cost of players, when relative to the market it isn’t that crazy. 30-something million for Hazard and Costa at that time was a lot of money and they worked out. I feel like you’re only looking at one side of the coin. But I do agree that the players you listed have not panned out and the price tags for them does make it look worse.

Take this example: Maguire cost Man United £80m, if we are to get Fofana for £85m when he’s already a better player and is quite a bit younger now than Maguire was then - maybe, just maybe, context matters and the deal isn’t so bad. It’s really just the title of worlds most expensive defender that is a bit frightening.

How tall is this man again? The way we defended those corners yesterday, I'd want a Zouma type of player back. We will be over paying for him, whether it's him or not, it's amazing we haven't got another backup option lined up.

6'3.

I'm not sure about the fee but when all said and done it really doesn't matter, Klopp paid a massive fee for Van Dijk and nobody cares.

Would be great to sign him, then RLC can play in the midfield and James as the wingback.

I don't know if I want to see Loftus-Cheek in midfield anymore, I think he is better as a backup RWB.

what's really nice about RLC as RWB is how we can fluently change the formation like we did against Tottenham

Lol according to sky Fofana I unhappy with Leicester. Article says he does not feel it is fair to set his price higher than McGuires price as Harry was 26 and an established international, feels the price tag is too high, priced out of move, wants the move as his Marseilles icon Drogba is a legend here...and he is willing to do nothing to make it happen...

Of course he'd be unsettled and wanted to leave for greener grass, so why did he sign a 5 years extension last season? He knew what Leicester is like, and have no chance to be the elite 🤐 Just like Harry Kane, he could not do a thing to force the move. I think we may as well stick with James, Dave and Chalobah ( when he's fit) for that position until World cup comes.

Can't really blame him for signing a 5yr contract at his age.  You take money on the table is general rule of thumb.

With Kane you could say he was a bit silly as he was on the up, and had already been tipped for big money move later in his career as he was delivering the goods above expectation. He should have had the foresight to know it was a bad idea to lock himself into such a contract.

Even then I will caveat it with it being the period when Poch was pulling up trees and had set Spurs on the path to being a side to be reckoned with. Again goes back to you take what's on the table when the going is good.  No one knows tomorrow.

And players today know the contracts they have is only as watertight as any admirers want it to be.  9/10 times he would have got his move last year, but we all know what the big man at Tottenham is like.

I think blame cam be attached to him, and his agent especially, for not doing what Kante did and insist on a minimum fee clause for a CL team.

For a young player that has achieved nothing?

Guys let's be real here.  Only the big players get away with insertion of clauses in their contracts that truly put them at an advantage over the club.

Not a player at 20 or 21 years old and yet to make a significant mark on the game.

What had Kante achieved at that time?

Wesley Fofana tells Leicester he wants to leave and join Chelsea.

@JacobSteinberg

Yeah pretty sure he did that a while ago. He needs to submit a transfer request.

i think he might be very close to doing so

Would be a big change of stance by him as all previous accounts have agreed he would not do anything anything official to ruffle feathers there.

Was bombarded by Arsenal fans telling him to wait and go to Arsenal to join Saliba.

Trade one mid table side for another then?

The general consensus on this forum around our 3 main signings so far were negative so I'm sure Fofana will come in and be quality.

Assuming Leicester let him go, which they are strongly trying not to do.

We should hijack Saliba. Apart from the weird d*ck video, he looks quality

This forum is a tier below football twitter when it comes to opinions.

It's actually shocking how people can consistently be so wrong about pretty much everything.
