Fofana had every right to call out the wrong actions. I'm sure Enzo is not a racist, but there needs to be additional punishment for his acts, I don't think  a written apology on the same social media platform will cut it. If the club only goes that far, I wouldn't be surprised external forces will enforce even harsher punishments on him. The real racists are the ones following up with racist comments on Fofana, it's the world we live in where social media is the perfect playground for people like that.

Fofana's an idiot for posting it on his story too, it makes further mockery of the club. If you have a problem pick up the phone and speak to Enzo, this is going to be hanging over the club for months now.

We as a club need to start banning players from social media and have dedicated staff running their accounts. These assets are far too valuable to be depreciated by a bunch of teenagers and young men firing stories onto socials against each other.

Im sorry, i dont share the view on forfana posting it being an idiot. Far from it. I think he needs to be applauded, good on him imho - given the levesl of racist abuse his post received he deserves fan support in its entirety and it kind of frames the wider issues football actually has to contend with and that starts with us fans too being supportive and probably less tribal, so with that, I apologise to Gol for what I called him yesterday.

I do wholeheartedly support your view on clubs taking a far more proactive approach to handling social media. That will come with education which to my understanding kids are being given in schools... Companies do provide this kind of resilience/ contingency training/ planning.

It's now an internal matter for the manager and board to go through and most importantly, the players to work through before the season starts. Wish them all good luck in finding mutual ground and the club draws this sorry saga to a close in a suitable manner that resolves all the issues.

He could have called, but why bother? It's not like he's the guilty one, let alone being called an idiot by you. Enzo should be the one making the calls of apology, Fofana had every right to express his thoughts, maybe he could be the bigger person and do it silently, but again that's not his problem.

Footballers posting on social media at a party or celebration rarely goes down well. But in the case, they are on International duty, out of CFC's control, although it's fast becoming a CFC problem.

From a club perspective it certainly would have been better to deal with it all behind closed doors. Calling out your own teammates in public can only lead to trouble, especially since several others followed suit. But on the other hand, it's their life, and their culture being disrespected, so you can't really blame them for it. It's just a sh*t situation for everyone to be in. Pretty par for the course with Chelsea. We never get a moment's peace.

The issue isn't about the club in my view, it's about racism in football and society. All the well-meaning statements and action plans and whatnots to kick out racism clearly also have a target audience within the player community. If an insulting social media thingie is beyond the pale, it's obvious to also use social media to point that out. It should be abundantly clear how wrong it is (and it's shocking that apparently it needs to be pointed out). All our players and staff have to work with Enzo, he's the one who caused this sh*t situation.

1) he did make the calls of apology

2) its not his problem, but it is the problem of his employer

Yes the entire thing is Enzo's fault and he needs to face serious repercussions but at the same time why jump onto social media and blow it up even more. Clubs publicly in turmoil now, no other club of Argentina players is facing the same backlash as Chelsea or jumped straight onto social media.

Think Term-X was spot on when he said this team lacks any leadership.

Reece has been a sh*t captain imo. Maybe he does a lot we don't know about behind the scenes, but from the outside it looks like there's no captain.

Chilwell no better. Can't forget him picking a fight with a bloody 17 year old during the ELC final.

Laughably the only 'leader' is the one player the club is allegedly trying to get rid in Gallagher.

No leadership and I personally blame social media too but I'm an old fart.

Gone are the days of picking up the phone and yapping or dealing with sh*t face to face. It's all dm this and msg me that...then fkn live streams! How can leadership control that without setting guidelines these "kids" can't follow like "don't be a dick!"

It's not easy for the best captains, but our captain and and his side kick need to step up more.

Aaarrrggghhh...yep, like I said. I'm am old fart. Lol

Is your question "why should someone who has been publicly racially abused stand up against racism in public"?

No, it's not.

What does he get from unfollowing someone on instagram? He's not stood up to him either, he's just shared the video. At least make a point and call for change or publicly call out Enzo. It was just a pointless story that's caused even more issues.

Fofana posted about it on Instagram. He made clear to the public that he does not accept racism. You should be applauding him.

There are several issues here though. If you pause at 12 seconds:

-Colwill isn't putting enough pressure on the ball

-Badiashile  is playing the runner onside

-Fofana not marking his man (he is playing the runner offside though, but once the ball is played and his man becomes active he just gives up)

Currently, the entire defence is looking poor.

I think his injuries may have done him in.

Will see.over rhe next two season but he may no longer be a top flight player.

One thing is for sure. He gets another early season ending injury over these next two years and he is done, and will be like Bogarde was for us.

Was a bad idea to buy him in the first place, had been out with a long term injury for a season then out 2 more with us, lbh he’s not played enough games to gauge his true worth and you can be sure he’ll be out injured again sooner than later. He was the first mistake signing by Bully and Clearfake, followed by quite a few more since. If you look back at the player transactions in 5 windows it’s overall staggeringly stupid business. (With the exception of Cole Palmer - even the losers get lucky sometimes😅)

You can hear him very clearly, at least 3 times, trying to point to the guy out even while focusing on the ball. I have no idea if wes is now really crap, was always this bad or is trying not to run and do sh*t because he's worried about injuries. Maybe a mix...no idea.

Highlighting the incompetence and arrogance of this mob from the outset.

If you remember the medical by those educationally stunted good ole Brits wasn't up to Boehly's expected standard, so he was packed off to the US for a deeper, analytical, medical by some of the top medical people in the world before we committed to this. Yeah, righto.
