Carney Chukwuemeka

Featured Replies

Waste of time him being here. Should have been one of the main priorities for a loan in the summer instead of wasting time with Fofana, etc. He's one of the few with real talent and could actually be sold for a huge sum with him being english.

I will be very suprised in chuku get any start this season. His situation is similar to Chilwell. Chuku is part of the bomb squad.

Unless maresca want to play political game, I really can't see it

His situation is similar to Madueke.

Carney was never sent to train away from the first team and he's only on £100kpw. Madueke had serious reports that we'd sell to Newcastle until he's impressed since preseason. Now he's "crucial to Maresca" as some outlets are putting it.

Could be a case of Carney regaining sharpness and understanding what's needed to play in this set up.

Chelsea tried to find a loan move for him but can't find one. I am not sure why maybe salary or loan fee.

They had plenty options just got too greedy with the loan fees. Now he's rotting away and will most likely command less in January.

I agree with you all on how Palmer should best be played, however, are we forgetting that our manager really does prefer playing with more traditional wingers?  Wingers play wide and stay wide - that is the way Enzo Maresca prefers it. Palmer is not that type of winger/wide player and so Enzo has shunted him into the middle. That is what Enzo, snr. has done and is doing.

Also, of course KDH is nowhere near the player that Carney is, we all know that, but we paid 30 million quid for him AND again Enzo Maresca prefers him as he is literally 'his player'.  His choice. We never needed to sign him.

We are not picking the team and the bloke who is picking the team sees things very differently to us at times.

Various media outlets reported that Man U, West Ham, Milan and Juve were all interested in taking him. How true any of them were, who knows but the most touted one was Man U.

I pray he stays and is given even a third of the opportunities Maresca has given Mudryk.

Indeed. But that doesn't mean he won't make big mistakes. As I'm sure Jose would now admit he did by shifting on Salah and DeBruyne in quick time.

Personally I don't think we see the best of Palmer when he is stuck in a central position. I think he prefers to come in from wide. Ditto N'kunku. I don't see him as an attacking central midfielder by choice. KDH is nowhere near the quality of Carney in an attacking sense.

Felix is the player Carney would most be in rotation with if I was manager.

Carney wins that every day.

Shifting Salah wasn't a mistake. He was unbelievably poor in a Chelsea shirt and would never have become the player he did without the move to Italy.

KDB he must certainly regret, the talent was obvious.

When we sell him, in a cut price deal in January, just hope it isn't to Tottenham, Liverpool or Man U.

If our hierarchy are hell bent on offloading him, then maybe Chukwuemeka plus cash for Duran in January might appeal to Villa ? They currently have Morgan Rogers in his position. Not as competitive as here ...

I' m sure the Villa supporters would love to have Chucky. He was a big hit with their fans before and they were gutted when we brought him. Think they might want to give us Watkins before Duran though.

If he was more versatile he would stand more of a chance but ultimately he can only play in the most stacked position in our team.

Sound like a broken record at this point but loan him out, he's not played football in ages the odds of him getting back into the team was always going to be next to zero even without signing Felix.

Maresca is saying Carney was ill but not sure how much truth there is to that.

I think the directors were right the first time in realizing Carney's potential. If we do sell him there has to be a buy back/matching clause included.

The thing is even if we do sell him, we won't be making much profit, if we even do make profit.

He's not had a great chance to showcase his ability and has had many injuries, would many clubs really take a punt at him for 30 million+ ? Becaause if not then there's no point selling him. If he's in the pipeline to be sold in January or the summer, the best thing to do is play the lad so his market value increases. Because he's rarely had poor games, he's usually took every chance he's got and proved himself, also seems a very versatile player.

Its the only explanation for me as to how Casadei gets in ahead of him

I can't remember Casadei doing one thing that made me think he is anywhere close to being ready for the Premier League. I do like his size in the middle though and at 21 still may develop into a player. Carney would be the choice for sure.

Santos would be better in that role.

Still a real head scratcher why Chukwuemeka isn't getting ANY minutes. I know he had injury issues and is still a bit raw, but surely the lad deserves a chance - especially in the European games. Would rather see him than Enzo or Dewsbury Hall.

It got nothing to do with injury. He is in for sale list.
