Carney needs to play if we want top dollar. Welcome home Andrey. If we send one more to Strasbourg then I reckon we bring Wiley back and either loan him elsewhere or we sell/loan Veiga.
January 9, 20251 yr Wiley has barely played for Strausbourg, seems a waste of a loan spot. Might as well recall him and let Santos have the rest of the season in France to develop and let Chukwuemeka join him.

January 9, 20251 yr We value Chuks for 40 and bought him for 20. If we get close to what we want we have just made good piece of business with him.

Zero offers on the table. Club has priced him out of the market, and his true value is around £20m-£25m + add ons which is what Jaden Philogene has gone to Ipswich for. Jaden has 3yrs of solid minutes on the pitch, Chukwuemeka doesn’t have significant minutes on the pitch but is somehow double the price? Cant wrap my head around the Strasbourg loan because he isn’t a need for them, what they need is an experienced CB as they have a 19 & 21yr old CB pairing. Disasi makes more sense IMO, and I would have sent Chuks to a Championship team at the end of summer window to go and get solid minutes. Edited January 10, 20251 yr by ducavis

In terms of Strasbourg not so sure what they want is a luxury they can afford. If Blueco says you need to go there you go there. Not an optimal destination if he is not needed there but it could happen. I am sure Liam Rosenior wants to have a path to Chelsea as well in the future.

February 2, 20251 yr Poor guy. He’s been completely sold down a river by signing for us - as are most young players.
February 2, 20251 yr I’m so glad he got loaned out, now he can rip it up in Bundesliga and come back as a new player. It’s the only way he would ever make it here, unfortunately.

Why are we trying to be too clever here? How does that even work when his release clause is £40m. Like you said; even at £40m he will be their record signing ever, so can’t see them activating it.

February 3, 20251 yr I know Carney has had injury issues but I find it completely baffling how he has not been given any chances this season, especially in the recent poor run when we are struggling to score goals. He maybe inconsistent but no more than any of the others (bar Palmer). Good luck to the lad - hope he does well and makes the decision makers look silly (again).
February 3, 20251 yr Not baffling at all. He's for profit only. They don't care about playing these young players, just stockpiling and selling them.

I think after this window, a lot of the young players we have bought or targeted are going to see through this sh*t. These players joined us in the expectation that they were joining a Chelsea side that wanted to continue competing with the best, that Chelsea is gone under the new ownership. Kellyman joined with the naive belief that he was going to be part of some grand project to make us one of the best sides in football, but the only reason why we bought him was because we wanted to sell Maatsen to Villa. Kellyman, like Casadei, like Veiga, like Chukwuemeka, like Petrovic, and like many of the current first team players, including Cole Palmer, are being bought for one reason, to sell for profit later. Players joining us now will be joining us for one reason, to kickstart their senior career in the hope of attracting a club that are serious about competing.
