December 8, 20241 yr It’s very infuriating how we can purchase these so called great talents, only to dispose of them ina couple of seasons. Carney has shown enough to warrant more game time. We’ve just got too many players off his position.
December 8, 20241 yr Yep, I don't see him getting in ahead of palmer, felix and nkunku. Maresca did say at the beginning he needs to play somewhere else to get the minutes he deserves. I hope a great loan is sorted out for him ASAP, or a sale with buy back clause. The best thing the club can do for him atm is make sure he is constantly training, keeping fit and ready to step up when the chance comes (for us or whoever he ends up playing for).

Scottish fitba not that interesting imho, but the lad needs game time. Might as well come play for my Sunday League team rather than playing up there.

He should be getting minutes ahead of Casadei and KDH though.

December 11, 20241 yr Now rumours of him being sold to AC Milan in January window. Would be a shame as I like what I have seen of him but he's wasted when he's not even making our bench and with more incomings in Summer, he may as well go and play somewhere.
December 11, 20241 yr There has to be a reason Carney isn't getting playing time that we don't know of, the kid is quite clearly talented. He's had some banging performances for someone his age and lack of minutes.

I really don't want him to go anywhere. I rate him very, very highly. But if Clearlake want to off-load him, and Maresca doesn't want him, I would rather he goes somewhere like Serie A rather than to an EPL rival. I think he has been treated dreadfully TBH.

I would rather he stayed as well Just, as I do rate him. But for some reason, his face doesn't seem to fit and with Estevao & Paez coming, the club clearly feel (rightly or wrongly) they will have better options.

He was adamant when we bought him that they, Villa, didn’t know wether to push his career on at Villa or get rid. His talent was never in question but attitude it seems was to the point where his self belief, arrogance if you like, made him difficult to manage . His impatience to be a regular starter became disruptive Now if course my neighbour may have just been saying that to justify the players exit but there is no doubt Carney is a decent player and based on what options we currently have I can’t see him as fulfilling his desire to be a regular starter at Chelsea and if there is a potential £20 million or so profit to be made then for me it’s right we listen to offers

I really like the kid super talented and I would have wanted to see him realise his potential here but seems the decision to offload has already been made. AC would be a good fit for him and we have a good relationship with them.
December 12, 20241 yr Thought he was poor tonight unfortunately. Pitch was akin to a frozen Hackney Marshes which must have affected them all, but whilst he saw loads and loads of ball, just seemed to want to overplay and come up with the cute one twos rather than keeping it simple. Little if any end product sadly. Shame because i really do rate him.
December 13, 20241 yr He’s far behind Palmer, Nkunku & Felix in the current lineup and with the additions of Paez/Estevao next season in attacking areas he’s only going to drop down further. A sale to Serie A would do him the world of good which is a shame as he showed some real flashes before the injury last season.

Anyone who uses this as an excuse to say he isn't good enough to make it with us, is an idiot. Loving everyone who thinks Paez and Esteveo are gonna waltz into the EPL next season and own it like a boss. Yeah, right. Because the EPL is a doddle and that always happens, yes? Let's just hope we haven't got our own version of Antony. Our maybe two Antonys. Edited December 13, 20241 yr by just

Let's just hope we haven't got our own version of Antony. Our maybe two Antonys. Not a chance! For one we haven’t paid a ridiculous fee, and they aren’t both on ridiculous wages. Both players are cream of the crop in their age group, and the only way they don’t make it is if we mismanage them. As for Chukwuemeka; personally rate him highly but something just seems off. He has been here for 2 seasons and played less than 1000 minutes in all competitions. I would have thought he would have pushed for a permanent move away in the summer, with the influx of new players but that never happened. Wasn’t he even on the cusp of being called up for the English national team at some point but he got injured.
December 14, 20241 yr I think he’s a fantastic player with huge potential, I’m really disappointed he barely played this season. You would have thought he would suit Maresca’s football big time. He would be the perfect back up for Cole Palmer imo. I’m hoping we loan him out rather than sell him, so he can show how good he is.

We paid £15m at 19yrs old in 2022 based on his potential, 2 years later and a remarkable 224 league mins (600mins all comps) we somehow value him at £40m.

His talent has been evident whenever he's played. The lack of minutes has been down to injury. He's played a similar amount of minutes at senior football as Cole Palmer had when we threw £45m at him.
December 20, 20241 yr Move the lad on for the fee we paid for him. He needs football to develop and he isnt getting it with us, sadly. Anything else should be viewed as the club holding his career hostage.
December 20, 20241 yr I still hope we loan him rather than sell him. If we do sell him, then I hope we have a buy back option clause inserted.
December 20, 20241 yr The whole point of him joining us was he didn't want to go on loan, he wanted to play. I'm not sure who advised him to leave Villa, a team he would most likely be featuring regularly in by now, and join us though. Maybe didn't have much of a choice mind due to both clubs FFP's issues.
