Barcelona are fking gagging for it aren't they?

"Its not broke honest, its just got a little crack in it. He'll be fine. A couple of ibuprofen he'll be right as rain, no worries...now give us the wonga so we can buy Bernardo Silva with money we haven't got so we can squirm out of paying him the salary that we promise him to get him in the first place"

Even if we get Auba, I'm not sure that Barcelona would be able to get Bernardo Silva from City this late in the window. He has been one of their best players this season from what I have seen.

The talks are stalled because we want Alonso as part of the deal and they want Alonso as a separate deal. Which in essence means that these ladyparts want us to pay 20m for a player they got for nothing 6 months ago, who has a broken jaw anyway, so that they can then offer to take Alonso on loan and for us to foot half or more of his wages.

Why are we continuing to even pick up the phone to these w*nkers. They have probably reveresed the charges anyway.

Can't blame Barca for driving a hard bargain. We'd be doing exactly the same.

I can't see Ronaldo unless we're sacking Tuchel. We'll concede 5 goals a game with Ronaldo "pressing" from the front in the TT system.

I still think this deal gets done, if only because we are desperate. We do look a bit foolish not having been in the conversation about G. Jesus earlier, instead of trying to "hijack" towards the end.

I think we will regret not having a top director of football ready to step in once the sale was confirmed.

I think we will regret sacking the ones we have before getting new ones.. the muppets

Sky are claiming we remain in talks for him, but are ensuring our offer includes Alonso goes the other way:

"

Chelsea in advanced talks for Auba

Chelsea are in advanced talks with Barcelona over the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The deal under discussion is Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso to Barcelona plus cash for Aubameyang.

No agreement has been reached yet, but all parties are positive, hopeful and willing of getting a deal done."

I remain thinking this is very risky.

Cash AND Alonso.... for a 33 year old striker that Arsenal no longer wanted??

They really are taking the piss!

Both sides are desperate for this to go through, Barca are just making better of it than we are.

It seems the hold up all along is wanting to make sure Alonso goes.

Romano reports that Barca turned out offer down. Still in discussion.

Cannot say I would be disappointed if we don't get him. Who knows how long mentally he will need to recover.

The fact that we're chasing this guy shows how useless our scouting/recruitment department has been.  Always going for has-beens instead of actually scouting for emerging talents. When was the last time we scouted a player who eventually grew into the team? Most of the players we sign these days are either overhyped or over the hill. We might as well scrap the scouting department if this is how we recruit players.

Don't get me wrong, I'd take Aubameyang at this point as the team is in dire straits, but it's a serious indictment on our player recruitment over the years.

To be fair most of the players we've signed in the last couple of years have been emerging talents and they've all flopped. Which "has been" have we signed recently? Not saying our recruitment is good but don't necessarily agree that we should only sign young and emerging players because they can turn just as bad. The only old player we signed was Thiago and he turned out good. Aubamayeng is only being signed as a stop gap, this isn't a long term deal.

According to Romano all parties confident this will happen.  I think it will because it’s logical. Zaha might be better but palace need zaha and Barca don’t have to have Auba.

Also a fair point.

Hold on; aren’t Chukwuemeka & Casadei emerging talents we paid massive sums for? It’s up to the manager to play them, and I still insist we have pissed away that money cos I can’t just see it. Pep sat Mahrez & De Bruyne on the bench & played Alvarez, Klopp took off Elliott another youngster & brought on Carvalho. 2 nights ago v Southampton, Tuchel took off Jorginho & brought on Chiwell with Gilmour & Chukwuemeka sat on the bench.

far out, how much "advanced talks" could they possibly have without getting an outcome? At least re-phrase it to 'desperate talk' or 'just trolling'. Barca has done a great job f* us up this summer, at least we get to keep Alonso I suppose, just need that master stroke to turn him into a 15 goals striker.
