September 1, 20223 yr We had to fight off all the competition to sign an injured 33 year old. Munich, PSG, City, Real Madrid and Liverpool were all putting in late bids for him . . .I can feel all their jealousy. We are owning it. This transfer window. League and CL this season right? I still think it’s the wrong choice tbh, 33 years old and all that money plus Alonso, I think Barca are laughing at us! Zaha would’ve been a much better pick.

September 1, 20223 yr Only worry with him is that his last seasons in the Prem weren't good at all, there's a chance he's lost his pace. Ronaldo would have been a more sure bet if we wanted a goalscorer

September 1, 20223 yr After the way we've been playing can someone tell me what and how the Auba signing is going change ?

He gives us another option to an out of form Havertz and Mount. We also don't have a striker to compliment Sterling. Personally I feel like this is the best stop-gap we could have got. A lot of people don't like the idea of a stop-gap but had we done that last summer, we wouldn't have wasted 100mil on Lukaku.
September 1, 20223 yr I honestly thought the days of us making desperate late window signings of players well past their best was over. So underwhelmed by this. The tables have turned. Our players who were surplus to requirements used to end up at Arsenal (Luiz, Cech, Willian). Now we end up with 33 year old Aubameyang whilst they have Jesus and Martinelli ripping it up. We offloaded Lukaku early and had plenty of time to sort something out only to panic at the last minute. Amateur stuff.

Which "has been" have we signed recently? Not saying our recruitment is good but don't necessarily agree that we should only sign young and emerging players because they can turn just as bad. The only old player we signed was Thiago and he turned out good. Aubamayeng is only being signed as a stop gap, this isn't a long term deal. I am not saying we should only sign young and emerging players. I'm just tired of the club wasting money on hype. Players like Havertz and Werner don't qualify as "emerging talents" when we signed each of them for a fortune. They fall into the hype category. Granted, I may have gone overboard with the has-beens, but my major point stands. 14 hours ago, ducavis said: Hold on; aren’t Chukwuemeka & Casadei emerging talents we paid massive sums for? It’s up to the manager to play them, and I still insist we have pissed away that money cos I can’t just see it. Pep sat Mahrez & De Bruyne on the bench & played Alvarez, Klopp took off Elliott another youngster & brought on Carvalho. 2 nights ago v Southampton, Tuchel took off Jorginho & brought on Chiwell with Gilmour & Chukwuemeka sat on the bench. Call me a cynic, but I think most of the youngsters we buy are mostly to add to our loan contingent with the aim of making profit. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but the examples you cite don't disprove my point. We are in the market for a striker and instead of looking for an emerging talent, who do we go for? Last season, when we were looking for a striker, who did we go for? Do you see a pattern here?
September 1, 20223 yr I have a solution to our transfer problems........let's just sign everybody. If we sign everybody, we can't lose and at least 1 of them will break the number 9 curse.
