August 27, 20223 yr If we let the window close without buying a striker it will be a level of negligence not seen since Ant McParlin said 'one for the road'

August 28, 20223 yr “Man United have asked about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. But Aubameyang has an agreement on personal terms with Chelsea, and has done for a long time. He wants to play Champions League football, and his priority is Chelsea." - @FabrizioRomano

However, this late in the transfer window we have our hands tied and me be forced to cave into his demands. 1 year means we are paying 18m to have someone leave on a free next summer...
August 28, 20223 yr We need a striker. And with this late in the window we don’t have much options left.
August 28, 20223 yr Not as if Aubameyang is a bad option, it's merely a stop gap with no sell on fee. He will take chances and score goals for sure. If we don't seal a deal for him before the window and end up with Havertz up front every week not scoring or assisting then we've shot ourselves in the foot.
August 28, 20223 yr A good move. Similar to the Eto'o signing a few years ago in my view. He'll understand the English league and has played with Tuchel before. Two years is fine in my view, not like we've had a bad record of signing older former Arsenal players recently either...
August 28, 20223 yr Basically Auba is happy either way. Barca decide to keep him, great he likes life over there and Barca are in the CL. Barca decide to sell him, great he liked living in London and we are in the CL. Either way he has a huge contract.

There is something smelling with these pay cuts and all the players want to stay nevertheless in Barcelona.

Strange isn't and also, obviously a total coincidence, there is a history of tax evasion and tax convictions against some players and previous officials. Strange really.
August 28, 20223 yr To be fair we would love players to turn down big money moves to remain at Chelsea due to the love for the club. But like most of you are suggesting footballers rarely think of anything else other than money. Very fishy from players that have hardly been there for a season having some cult level of love for the club that they would take so much off a pay cut.

August 28, 20223 yr You can see with spuds today how important a proper Goal getter is, in Hkane, i cant believe once Luk n Wern were jettisoned, we haven't prioritised a striker

And if he scores tons of goals for us, hes hardly going to deterioate next year because hes suddenly become too old. Finally and most importantly, he wont sign for us on a year deal, he will want some form of security.
