July 28Jul 28 We need to move on. Try to remain as optimistic as possible, but in 3 years now he is yet to complete 90 minutes. There is nothing here to convince me he should occupy a position in the squad.

July 28Jul 28 I keep trying to give the lad the benefit of doubt, hate seeing players careers go this way but after 3yrs of being unable to complete a single game you just can’t rely on him unfortunately. As it stands he is unsellable and I can’t even see anyone wanting a sick note on loan in order to shop window him.Hope we can sell Enzo to free up some cash for midfield reinforcements otherwise we better buy Caicedo a bike.
July 28Jul 28 We need to move on from both Lavia and James. It's so obvious at this point that the pair of them are damaged beyond repair, Lavia especially. I don't even count Lavia as a midfield option personally. We barely have any midfield, it's basically just Caicedo, Enzo that wants to leave and Essugo. We need two midfielders and we haven't even gone and got one yet.

Personally think with 1 game a week, we have 2 players too many as things stand. We also haven’t solved the physicality issue

Lavia, Essugo, Barco, Henderson, James, all of them are awful options in midfield. They're either crippled or lack quality. They aren't the options you ever want to have to rely on at any point in the season. I go back to 09/10 where we had Lampard, Ballack and Essien, if one of those got injured, we had Mikel there ready to fill in, which is exactly what happened with Essien's knee injury. What do we have if Caicedo gets injured? nothing. We have zero players to come in and do a job if we lose him, it's basically season over.
July 28Jul 28 With James, you can already make the case that he's been 'moved on' with the investment in Palestra. I'd rather utilize James in specific matches, much like how Real Madrid use Carvajal.Midfield is the key issue. We need to see who Alonso/the directors bring in to partner Caicedo before judging.
July 28Jul 28 the only reason I don’t want to write him off yet is Dembele. He had the same injury issues and somehow got fixed and became one of the best in the world

July 28Jul 28 Just have to wait his contract out and release him on a free. Just don't consider him an option. We need at least 4 center midfield options. Perhaps Essugo can be 1. Caicedo certainly is. Need 2 more. Perhaps Scott/Wharton/Bruno Guimaraes

The Badiashile loan fee, that they haven't got over the line yet? With the amount of days left in the window and the amount of players that apparently are going to be leaving, it'll mean we need to sell a player every two days. It took them nearly three weeks to sell Chalobah and then fell flat on their arses. Two weeks before the World Cup it was all BlueCo out, 2 billion wasted, up to our eyeballs in debt, sell to buy.Now we going after 1 or possibly 2 £90m midfielders, another CB to add to the ten we've got.Where is the money coming from, these people can't sell players, they're sh*t.

Surely there is so regret on the club’s side. That extension is ridiculous now in hindsight.

You are right though, ideally you loan him to Strasbourg for 2 seasons. The Strasbourg squad is a mess though, because they bought too many players.

Unless they sell Enzo for big money, no one else is coming in.
