I think reports are that Chilly and James are both back after the World Cup. Not sure on Kante. Certainly need to buy a proper DM though in January.

Arteta was given time, and it is proving to be the right decision. I know people will use hindsight now to say that is different to Potter's circumstances, but it is not. Remember when they got trashed by newly-promoted Brentford? Remember how they were only 10th in the form table at the end of last season? Don't kid yourself, there was massive pressure and calls to sack him. The owners were right to ignore them

This might not be the greatest analogy but I'm going to use it anyway there was a film called The Firm in the 80's about football hooligans loosely based on the ICF. In one scene one of them is wearing a half and half bobble hat which was an English team and a Scottish team one of the top boys rips it off his head chucks it on the floor and says '' What have we got to do with Celtic son ?''.

Comparing our woes and Arsenal's are pointless how their run what their owners do how much time Arteta is given has nothing to do with Chelsea and Potter if something isn't working it's not working simple as that. Do I remember when they were thrashed by Brentford no I don't do I remember when when they were 10th no I don't do I care now or then no I don't. I do care that we look dreadful at the moment and if we lose to Bournemouth the knives will be sharpening for Potter.

Cause of family commitments I won't be going on the 27th but a good few of my mates are and believe me Potter is only another bad result from the '' You don't know what your doing chants'' and f**k Potterball etc he's on very thin ice with the match going fans who still have lots of love for Tuchel will there be a Potter banner in the Shed soon I very much doubt it. Boehly and his board are going to find out the hard way that appeasing football fans isn't easy and the ire of some fans could be directed at them if they leave Potter in charge almost for the sake of it.

Brighton fans are going to love us even more if reports are true that Paul Winstanley is already lining up a huge amount of cash to head back to the seaside in exchange for Trossard, Sanchez and Cacideo.

Never realised we have also taken Brightons head of recruitment. Where do we stop.  They cant have many senior staff left

Brighton - they were a defensive side when he took over, fighting relegation. They only looked to try and concede as few goals as possible and to counter-attack, hoping to knab a goal. That is a far cry away from what they are now. They have been turned into one of the better possession teams in the league; they are considered one of the toughest matches for the top six, regularly taking points from them. This season was looking incredibly positive under him. They had come on leaps and bounds and have only been a consistent goal scorer away from challenging the Europa League positions last season.

I want you or someone else who thinks Potter is the right man to convince me.

Last season, Potters 3rd season at Brighton, 134 games in the job, they only managed to score 42 goals in 38 games, only the bottom 3 plus Wolves scored less.

He and his recruitment staff had 7 transfer windows and 3 years to find a striker to fit at Brighton.

Have you got any confidence he can find a goal scorer for a top club like Chelsea ?

That's also my feeling. I said some posts above that I'm willing to give Potter time but that's not the feeling I get from the majority of my match going mates and other match going fans I talk to.

Pretty sure they had one of the best xG's in the league though. Our issue is creating more so than finishing. Easy enough to find a decent finisher, harder to create chances with them. Put Batshuayi in that Brighton team last season and he gets 15+ league goals.

We haven't "just" got Brightons recruitment team.

Well, Upsetter. Let me give you a 10 for creativity and a 0 for precision.
This is Sindre. And I have no ill feeling towards you are anyone else and despite your less than favourable words for me I can only say I wish you all the best in life.

The actual reason I left is that I now have two sweet and young children that are growing up and need my time and dedication far more than the population on here. So I don't expect to be back anytime soon either but why not stop but figured I could stop by and say hi for one evening.

On Potter I can only repeat what I said a few short days after he was hired:

image.thumb.png.7b16ef3c1735dac0e7a09b616be5ffcb.png

So should be given more time but concede that he has surprised me in a negative way. Since Aston Villa it's been more or less an umitigated disaster and he will clearly have to address that or risk his job. Against Arsenal and Newcastle I had to question if the squad were even behind him as it certainly didn't look that way. Haven't helped himself with a string of very poor decisions but still time to turn his fortunes around.

With that I will be gone again. Sayon grief. Sorry I can’t buy that for a single minute. Congrats on your two sweet young kids, I’m sure they’re well worth all the attention you can give them.

It’s what’s known as being a father, or mother, doesn’t matter either way. It’s also known as being too busy to devote much time to the Shed End. I’ve seen many such posts, but never once have the authors of these felt forced to demand the closure of their account. Nope, it’s always been along the lines of “due to circumstances beyond my control, I won’t be able to spend much time here in the foreseeable future”

I have my own such circumstances, but I’m damned if I’m going to post them here for entire world to see.

Why didn't Potter and his team get him in then ? This is my worry, they don't know what a goal scorer looks like.

Money i would imagine. Other than the year they came up they tend to just break even on transfer fees in and out every season. Imagine they now have our budget though, go get who you want lads.

You could be right, i hope so, but other teams manage with similar size budgets and find goal scorers, Leicester (62) and West Ham (60) last season scored 50% more goals than Brighton (42), so it can be done.

Also Potter and his team may have a much larger budget now at Chelsea, but that doesn't mean they will attract the top players, the most sought after players. So we will have to be really clever in the market and identify players other clubs have missed, which is what he was doing at Brighton.

As we've already found out to a big cost, sticking a poacher in a team that creates sh*t loads of chances never works in practice how people think it should on paper.

People mentioning taking their recruitment specialist, meanwhile our recruitment has been absolutely amazing the last decade hasn't it. Can I just remind you that our previous board signed those top class talents which included Bakayoko, Dijibilijij (whatever his name is), Baba Rahman, Drinkwater, Barkley, Zappacosta, Morata, Batshuayi, Emerson, Alonso, Kenedy, Cuadrado, Remy etc. those are all names that wouldn't look out of place at Brighton (except Morata). It's not like our scouting and recruitment has been at a high level previously, and looking at what Brighton/Potter did with what they had, I am optimistic that a recruitment specialist from Brighton can do a very good job here. Potter at Brighton signed Lamptey, Trossard, Maupay, Mwepu, Lallana, Veltman, etc. For their budget, they have been very good signings.

Think they took Danny Welbeck on a free!!!!!

It's alright, don't need you to buy it. @coco or even @Mod should be able to confirm that leaving this place was on my mind long before I had even talked with you so there's that. If you want to live under the illusion what you of all people said to me had any impact on me leaving then be my guest and I quite frankly could not care less.

Goodbye now.

Hi coco,

This may come across as a bit of an odd request but would it be possible to deactivate my profile? Or is that something i can do myself?

@Mod @coco Hello friends, been a little while since last time but i'd ask you to actually deactivate my profile this time. Been here a long time but it's time to focus on other things and as long as I have my profile it's simply too tempting for me to come back 😅

So yeah, could you please do my that favour and deactive my profile? I know it's irreversible and thats alright.

And that's my final answer

I can understand why match going fans might want out, but our squad is poor and for most of the time under Tuchel having Rudiger passing from jnust over the halfway line was a poor reflection on our game. He did get results yet it was far from attractive football.

Potter might change that given a chance yet when we need to rely on RLC and Jorgnho in midfield what really do the Potter out brigade expect?

I don't think Boehly is taking Brighton's recruitment team because of Brighton. Potter is probably involved in the process which is why we are being linked with several people from Brighton. Afterall, that's the main reason Tuchel and Boehly's relationship didn't work out, Boehly wanted Tuchel to be involved in the recruitment of the backroom people involved on the footballing side of things, but Tuchel just wanted to focus on what's going on on the pitch.

We were the 3rd best team in the league in terms of chance creation under Tuchel last season, there were very few games where our opponents created more chances than we did

Well, not many Chelsea coaches have been able to find a top goalscorer in recent years. If Potter doesnt, he will be upholding a Chelsea tradition. Anyway, Brighton's recruitment team had peanuts to spend compared to us. That Japanese guy cos about £5 million.

the whole team cost less than our last transfer window splurge.

and Brighton just walloped us 4-1 , asking why Potter didn't get a goalscorer for Brighton ? The better question is why hadn't WE been able to buy one ?.
