I reckon Lukaku will outstay Potter!

What odds you got on that @Mod

Incidentally rumours about the German Fa will ask Flick to resign. Could he be on his way to the PL?

Our biggest problem right now is that we need to find a way to play without wb because all of our wb are injured.

It is the same exact problem that tuchel had last year.

We don't have to play with WBs if our WBs are not good enough to become the extra attacker.

Having a solid backline is good enough for now

And you just hit another problem. We can't play back 4 and look solid. Tuchel tried it, Potter tried it. It is the same story. Heck tuchel even used a hybrid for a couple of games and he went back to 343.

WB`s only work with good, mobile midfielders who can cover in behind them....we dont have them.

If Potter is better than Arteta, there is no reason that once a proper rebuild of 500m in two summer transfer windows is finished that we'll be beating Arsenal every day of the week.

True.

Any team can play a back 4, it's just that our organization is terrible if Silva isn't on the field. Silva is also pushing 40 and is probably in his last season at the EPL level.

Here's hoping Potter has already worked out some sort of gameplan by now

When we lose Silva if were left with what we have then we are in deep trouble, he runs everything in that defence and is outstanding at it.

You don't replace someone like Silva with a like for like. He is one of a kinda, modern day Maldini or Beckbauer. Would be foolish to think we can.

We spent a fortune on the side so we could evolve past Zola, and we are a fortune away from evolving our center backs past Silva.

Fofana or Chalobah

Gvardiol or Colwill

Again we will miss Silva, but those guys will build us a difficult to breach defence. As long as the midfield is sorted of course

We need it every season. Not just a one off. On this trajectory he's on course for 5 goals.

Which is par for his normal output. Still insist last season’s output was an abnormally for a lot of our players.

Mount gets about 10 goals and 10 assists every season +- a few so on average he gets that, but I think it's also important to say that he also plays the most, last 2-3 seasons he featured in over 50 matches for us so having 10 goals in 50+ matches... Well it's good for us but not amazing.

Mount was better for me the season before last no matter what the stays says.

"The boys gave everything" line gives me genuine nightmares.

Potter needs to help himself and be and come across as far more confident and dare I say, with bigger balls. He needs to give us fans and not least the players something to believe in and not be waxing lyrical about the quality of our opponents, especially not when we are facing Brentford/Brighton/Newcastle/Arsenal. That comes across as extremely defeatist but it's what he kept doing post-match during that horrid run we had before the break. We like winners at this club and Potter needs to act as one and he's simply not done so this far.

If you give our fanbase belief that we will become a top team under you, you will get a lot of love and a lot of patience from most. The severe lack of that so far from Potter is what's turned many against him so quickly. Even on the pitch there has been very little to believe in and that 9 game run from Villa - Newcastle was quite simply unacceptable. Last time we were that poor was that run that got Lampard sacked. You could go into detail about tactics or players in wrong positions but there was almost to much wrong to even start.

Hope he's spending this break wisely because he needs to make sure we start on the right foot against Bournemouth on the 27th. I think Boehly will have a lot of patience for Potter but from the supporters and players there will be less patience so he needs to fix things ASAP, starting on the 27th. If he can't arrest this run and we continue to get thoroughly beaten he will first lose the players, then he will lose the fans and then he will ultimately lose his job.

He can say whatever he likes when were winning, until then nothing he can say will be right.
