Like I said the other day, there is a lot of rewriting of history going on on here of late.

Downplaying our Champions League win, downplaying what Lampard did with the squad a few seasons back, pretending that we were a mess despite playing in 4 cup finals, winning 2 trophies and finishing 3rd in a season where we had our club santioned by the government, and for what? Graham Potter of all people, a coach that has us playing like a team fighting relegation, a coach that has us looking like one of the worst teams to watch in the league, a coach that is so bland and doesn't even give you the slightest bit of confidence that things will improve. It's delusional.

And downplaying of Graham Potters achievements too 😉

You know when Potter drags us to trophies and titles the likes of @justand a couple of others who have kept the faith are going to be afforded a fair amount of smugness at the rest of us.

Walking in a Potter wonderland indeed.

Would he have hired Potter? I highly doubt it.

Roman hired Scolari, Andre Villas-Boas, Sarri and Avram Grant.....so he was sometimes inclined to go for unproven, untested, "latest-hot-thing" manager too at times. And sometimes it worked (Mourinho first time for example), but not always.

All of those names were or still are more proven than Potter, even Villas-Boas won his domestic league and the UEFA Cup. Potter is the odd man out that won the lottery here.

Wednesday is a great opportunity for Pots and his players to show what they are made of in a tough situation. Players are up for it for sure. Even though we have absolutely no cohesion in the side apart from probably the defensive structure Champions League usually brings the best out of players. Not sure if they think this is make or break the season and take added pressure of it...

The way Dortmund play and the way we play this should be up and down attacking afair. Interesting to see whether Potter tries to setup us defensively here or just go at them.

I would expect a defensive set up for the first leg, especially as we are away from home as well. With Badiashile not in our squad, I think Potter might go to a three at the back formation for this one, with Silva, Koulibaly and one of Chalobah or Dave at RCB.

I'm not expecting much, but am hopeful of a pleasant surprise.

Thought Potter actually coached a 3-0 game in that first half hour at the weekend. Defensively solid winning the ball back up high and had the ball in the back of the net 3 times.

I think there's more to this mentality coach coming in, we conceded 1 goal against the run of play and every player on that pitch panicked and abandoned the game plan completely resorting to safe passes and playing deep and slow. Personally wouldn't change coach until summer unless we're genuinely fighting relegation. Seasons a write off at this point anyway.

Chelsea board firmly behind Potter

Chelsea’s draw at West Ham United on Saturday means Graham Potter’s side have won just two of their last 13 Premier League matches, leaving them ninth in the table and 10 points off the top four.

The run of results, especially with so much money spent in the summer and January transfer windows, has led to some unrest among supporters. The Champions League is the last chance the club have for silverware this season.

But though some fans are questioning whether Potter is the right man to lead the club in the post-Roman Abramovich era, the club’s owners have no such concerns, reports David Ornstein, whose column returns next week.

The feeling within the Chelsea hierarchy is that the former Brighton coach should be judged in years not months and they are confident they have one of the best managers in the game. They have a lot of changes still to make at the club and decided early on not to judge him on whether they qualify for the Champions League this season.

The leadership team feel Potter coming in mid-season with a squad that needed such a big overhaul meant success was always very unlikely in the short term and that there is still a lot of change to come to what is now a youthful team. It’s felt he has been very unlucky with injuries too.

The success of Mikel Arteta at Arsenal with a young squad after a mixed start is also seen as reassuring and the board feel that it will take some time for all the new faces to gel and understand Potter’s tactics and methods.

The dreaded message of support. Well that means about two games to go in the normal run of things. Except that this time it's an unofficial message. Its actually the official message that is generally fatal.

That was the case in Roman era at least.

To be fair he only took over after Jose was sacked, he was never a long term option but I give you that, Potter is more qualified than Avram-Grant but he still doesn't come close to any other name though.

Well - I never thought I would see the day. Gol actually admits a statement he made was wrong.

Gol, I tip my hat to the progress you are making buddy - the therapy is clearly paying dividends.

We are proud of you.

I have been wrong before but it's not like you can relate to any of that, find a mirror before you judge others, thanks in advance.

1. if he is one of the best managers in the game we wont win 2 out of 13, thats just stupid and idiotic

2. Why are we comparing ourselves to the level of Arsenal, who sucked the last 20 years with 0 league titles and 0 champions league trophies?

Standards are dropping fast, which is sad

1. Maybe we are not trying to "just" win games for the sake of it. Remember how TT and Conte turned every stone to win the next game. Fine, but it (probably) wasn't for the good of the long term project (players burn out, tactics are reactive, no long term planning for players nor recruitment). Both of those managers are clearly one of the best managers out there but neither stay in a club past 2 seasons...we are looking for a manager that can handle more than two seasons. We don't know whether Potter is our man for ages but we won't find out if we don't give him at least two seasons. That idea is backed by: his long-ass contract and the fact that we just signed about 10 20 year old talents...why on earth would we bring in "Guus Hiddink" suddenly when we are losing games...we will survive the Prem. I would call that stupid and idiotic.

2. Arsenal is a good comparison in terms of their current status and the situation of their manager. What we need to do is to make sure we are not in the rut for 20 years. With our resources it looks highly unlikely.

Will let you off that one snappy comment - especially as it was in response to a congratulatory message.

Must be having Jorgi withdrawal symptoms. Stick at it champ - cold turkey will get easier - time is a great healer.

There's a good boy.
