I know 1 manager that would fit for us, now more than ever since we will continue buying players in the summer...

soccer vs GIF

I guarantee you that most of the squad and including our best players like e.g. James, Enzo, Kante would perform even better under Zizou, they would go into full vintage just to hear him tell them "tres bien" or whatever...

fifa GIF by SB Nation

Bit of this from the manager on Antony Taylor and Ziyech.

Just seen Potter on MOTD again. Sorry this bloke is a loser. I got it wrong in backing him for the job. He may keep his job , the owners may make money, Chelsea won’t win trophies. Show some balls Graham like you belong!

Why does he have to be so submissive ? I almost smashed my TV watching his post match interview, so so frustrating listening to him.

So far have seen Zidane suggested, but not seen anything to say he is interested in any job in England. Man is a triple CL winner with Real and one of the greatest players ever, no way he has not had offers form most of the big sides in the world yet only managed real. Why? I reckon it means he is very particular about which clubs he works for.

Who else is there? Luis Enrique? Would Flick come? Is Todd willing to pay Grahem over 50mill to sack him and more to sack him stuff and break his promise to Potter that he would be given lots of time? I just don't see it happening.

Settle in ladies and gents, I reckon Potter is here for a few more years at least.

He has no fire in his belly. Zero. None.

we’re completely f**ked and for a long time yet. We will finish 12th (guess) and they still won’t sack him due to promises and FFP.

It was quite clear to me he wasn’t/isn’t up to the job since maybe November and the arsenal/newcastle debacles. Unfortunately I think he’s here for the next 7-8 months minimum so might as well get used to it.

Media metrics. It was a case of sacking a popular manager and as the most popular and rated British manager of the time, whether or not he was worth it, he let the British media influence his decision.

It was piss poor recruitment. Without a proper competitive process and completed in 48 hours.

That's as amateurish as it gets.

Basically I agree with this. It was at least from the public view a poor process. Should have been 2-3 candidates with 2,3 interviews for each. And his cv was not so good that process could be ignored.

well if the owners want to ignore the fans voice, then what we can do is to show them every single week especially when they are watching in the stadium.

Look at what United fans have done to Glazers the season before vs Liverpool or how the West Ham fans boo and chant against the owner at home, make sure they are being heard by the media as well so they can put articles out that can pressure the owners.

What the hell? The problem is solely on Potter's tactics.

Personally, I have zero issues with the Todd, Eghbali or Clearlake. They have done something a lot of the more reasonable fanbase have long for. A proper structure.

We now have football people at the top who has identified good potential talents that have came in and straight away looked good. Badiashile, Enzo and Felix proved that they belonged in the PL. Mudryk and Madueke still look fine, lack of chemistry maybe but still better than our other options.

They have also spent a fortune on bringing these players in that immediately solved Potter's lack of squad options.

To compare our owners to FSG and Glazers is just stupid. Any of them would take an owner like Todd and Clearlake

I don't believe our owners will be influenced by us fans. I do think they will be influenced by the players, as in if these various expensive bought players all good to them and say that Potter is the reason we are mid table and they find him a poor manager.

I would add Poch as well. All respect to Zidane but his Real Madrid were very individualistic. I'd prefer to have a tactician a la Tuchel again. But I don't think we'll see a change until at least next winter. Hansi Flick is the only one that would be easy to negotiate a deal with midseason.

Jesus.

Surely we have won more than four games since he started? If this is right we have only beaten English opposition twice in his time as manager. 21 goals against and 12 for. I'm actually stunned if that is true.

Get behind our team at games FFS.

We are called Chelsea " supporters for a reason.

Creating an entitled , toxic atmosphere is unacceptable.

Todd will make a decision on his own terms ,  we don't need to act like spoilt children in public, join Arsenal fan TV if that's how you want to behave.

Do you know what would not be getting behind the club? Pretending everything is okay when we have a bang-average manager in charge of a very good squad he'll never be able to get the best out of.

I am amazed at our ability to end up in these situations when it comes to manager and player recruitment. From Scholari to AVB to sacking JM I and TT. This would have been funny had this not been us and some other club.

Wow .. this is relegation level form .. yes we had some injuries but that is why you are supposed to have managers.. I don’t think he knows what he is doing!

We had a decent patch in September when he initially took over but for the last 4 months we've been woeful. It seems our early good form under Potter was mainly due to Tuchel's tactics still being in place.

These are not all the games Potter has been in charge of. The lucky wins at Villa and Palace are not on the list of starters.

The SouthHampton game looked a winnable game out of the next 5 for us, although they may get a new manager bounce and do an Everton on us, for our sake I hope they keep that Jones guy for another week. Forget about Spurs, Leeds and Everton be look forward to play against us, knowing all they had to do is put in a good shift and results will come. We are slowly getting players back, new signings all had their initiations,  I think even the most devoted Potter fans be running out of excuses if we can't start winning a few games.

I reckon that silly 5yr contract will prevent them from sacking him at the end of this season. It’s either a £40m or £50m payoff which is a one time hit on our books, & equivalent to spending £200m-£250m in the transfer market with the normal 5yr contract.
He is certainly not the right man but we need to mindful of the fact that we are in a rebuilding process. We are still a Goalie, Forward, and a CM short, and still need to clear out the dross signed by Tuchel last summer. Whenever you are rebuilding a team, you don’t need to have your ideal manager in place. Since we have a proper recruitment in place now I would let them sign the 2-3 players needed in the summer, and get rid of the players that need to be sold in the summer. I would also give him till Dec to see if he can have us in the top 6, and close to 4th position before considering his position.

You pull the pin now and you risk employing someone who might halt the rebuilding process because he has other ideas on how to use players on the scraphead.

See, this is another thing that has me scratching my head.

If Potter was on a deal of say 8m salary a year with a guarantee 4m bonus at each anniversary for a five contract, and a breach clause of the 4m as a pay off if sacked. This I could understand as performance related pay and yet the media still reporting 12m a year.

This I could understand and fits in with other soundbites about similar performance salary packages for some of the players. But I am not sure. This hire was so quickly done and the decision appears to have been made unilaterally. Also, so I have heard this weekend, there are a lot of similarities between GP and Andrew Friedman, head of Baseball Operations for the Dodgers, which makes me think the Boehly alone dived in with this decision and contract and as been said elsewhere, guys like Boehly rarely hold up their hands.

I don't hate on him, he's just not a good player, been proven a long time ago. Out of all our injured players, has anyone said ' we really missed RLC" ? He's not match fit, couldn't remember last time he had a kick, and most importantly he was not good this game.  As for who else could have played, could have played Gallagher to push forward a bit more ( we were only playing against West Ham), a Chalobah if we want to go the other way.

There's no such thing as only west ham and RLC is good enough to play that role.

2 sitting is a better shape than Enzo as the line DM. It allows Enzo to get forward and you know, swing a ball into the box for Felix to score.

Potter is making two mistakes with his line ups every week and that's playing Havertz as the 9 and going back to giving Cucu a run in the team. RLC was a decent decision, that is the formation we will need to use to win the CL, so may as well get it going against "only west ham"
