Can Potter do what Tuchel did? If he does then it's a clear sign of a quality manager, if he says that he needs more time despite the huge investment, the same requirements are waiting for him anyway. The question is how long will the owners give him?

Sarri in his first 10 matches had a 70% win rate and 0 loses and that was after playing Man United, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Lampard in his first 10 matches had a 60% win rate and we lost only to Liverpool and Man United.

Tuchel in his first 10 matches had a 60% win rate and had 0 loses.

Potter comes in and there is no real change in the league performances - Potter is the odd man out.

I don’t often agree with @Gol15 but truer observations were never made on this forum. Bang on with the sentiment majority are carrying.

600m gets the pressure right up. By the media. Hopefully Potter doesn't read anything in the media. The message is simplified: they used all the money and no results. 

We bought young players with no Prem experience. 

I really hope Todd and co are keeping it cool and know this is early in the process. Potter seems to be think that way as he says it in every press conference. I don't think he would otherwise. I think he is pretty honest in what he is saying usually.

Winning is a habit and we don't have that habit right now. We are piecing the puzzle and struggle to win. Hopefully Dortmund game is some sort of a turning point in terms of winning. The players will treat this game differently as they do with these Prem fixtures. 

I will back the manager as long as the club does. I don't want us to do the Roman-routine which would be to sack the manager right away. We know what that does. We have witnessed it the past 20 years.

Southampton's situation seems to be mirroring ours somewhat, bringing in an unproven manager and results massively deteriorating, with Nathan Jones being sacked today. Difference is Nathan Jones wasn't given 300m to spend, and he reached the Capital One Cup Semi Final.

If Potter got his act together, the process wouldn't be long or arduous. The only key injured player is Kante. Chilwell can already play for 40mins, Reece can play the full 90min. Mudryk and Madueke are 2 fast, tricky wingers that love to hug the touchline and want to attack spaces in behind.

I am saying that it is too early to fully back or sack. 

This will be a long term rebuild, and for Potter to survive, he needs to show some progress. That will not be the finished article, and it will not be a 15 game winning streak. But it does need to be something - incrementally improving.

Brighton's 2021/22 form and the league table since Oct posted by @Sexyfootball are beyond damning.  Things have to improve significantly in Feb and Mar otherwise I can't see Potter lasting.

Candidly, even if things do turn around, I'm not even sure I want him in the role anymore.  Just doesn't have the fire or winning mentality for me.  Perhaps the new mentality coach is a sign of that, and I sincerely hope the football minds that be now at Chelsea (e.g., Vivell) are saying what we all see and think to Boehly and Eghbali.

I'd take a long list of suitors right now, but preference would definitely be Zidance or Flick.

I agree. New players fitting in. Injured players coming back and finding sharpness. Team needing to gel.

This second half of the season should be an evaluation period on whether to back or sack Potter.

I hadn't even noticed originally that we have the lowest number of goals scored in that table in the entire PL. The LOWEST.

8 goals. Same as Everton, who have played 11 games vs our 13 ... 

The only way is up I guess ... let's hope we have actually hit rock bottom LOL.

Mendy, Azpi, K2, Cucu, Mount,Kai RLC and Ziyech are not good enough or are in useless form

Connor, Trev, Hall, DDF, and Carney all have not yet proven they have what it takes to be in a first team regular.

W. Fofana, Kante, Sterling, Kova, Zakaria and Chilly are all either just back from injury or still injured.

Mudueke, Mudryk are still raw and untested.

It leaves us with Kepa(!!!), James, Silva, Baddy, Enzo and Felix that I have any confidence in.

Think it’s clear the point in all that is Potter having almost everyone back from injury and in contention. 
 

The injury excuse that was used so much back in January isn’t an option anymore. We need to see better in game management.

Unbelievably we are still only 10 points away from 4th, with 16 games left. I think we can still make Top 4, but a significant winning PL run has to start NOW and Potter simply has to get something out of the Dortmund game Tuesday, followed by an absolute shoeing for Southampton next weekend to build some momentum and get some belief in the squad. 

We should be aiming for no worse than a good draw at Dortmund, and preferably a win, followed by putting at least five goals past the Saints.

Yeah I'm a big Potter believer, but if we don't see positives by the end then can't see many supporting a second season. 

We saw it with Sarri by the end of his season, at the end the majority wanted another year, hopefully this follows a familiar pattern (with a European trophy to boot)

His reaction to the pen call was not a surprise. He just does not appear to have that winning fire top managers need. Maybe he is happy to fail knowing a large payout comes for him and his staff and that they will all get jobs at bottom half PL clubs or in the Championship?
