June 15, 20233 yr If the price Bloom wants is £120 million then I hope a swift middle finger is our response to that ... and we go and look elsewhere, and add Brighton to the list of clubs we won't deal with in future (alongside Inter Milan 🙂 )
June 15, 20233 yr I think the 120M is a special rate for Boehly's Chelsea 😅 Seriously, I thought Boehly got on well with them after we gave them 2 great deals last season to revamp their team.
June 15, 20233 yr Generational DMC, far better than Rice and better than Mac Allister (to compare with other midfielders targeted/signed by top clubs). Whether he goes to your club or not remains to be seen but wherever he ends up (and at whatever price), he's going to make the fans of his club absolutely delighted once they see him on the pitch. June 16, 20233 yr I wonder what pact means? To have any real meaning it has to have a notional release value. Caicedo must have some good advisors if he has pre arranged stuff with not so much De Zerbi who is only the manager but rather with the owners

Tapping up used to be a thing lol.

I wonder if the Kane deal is as dead as Fabrizio made out, or if he and Caicedo end up being two presents he gifts to his new fans.

June 16, 20233 yr Tapping up is only an offence in England, and it isn't enforceable against agents. Agents can freely mediate between clubs and players and often agitate on their own behalf, especially with social media. We f**ked up with Ashley Cole because Kenyon and Mourinho met him personally, which breached the rules.
June 16, 20233 yr Purchasing Caicedo should also be seen as an investment in Kendry Paez who seriously looks like a future superstar if he stays fit and motivated.

Mac Allister's 35m release clause was included in a new contract he signed around WC time. He wanted to leave, Brighton accepted that, the release cause facilitated that. The 35m was a token figure, a red herring. His real price, including add ons, was 55m+.
June 16, 20233 yr Guess the board have not learnt their lesson yet. About to get fleeced by Brighton for a 3rd time.

June 16, 20233 yr Absolutely not worth the price. Max I would go is £60m. Move on to another target please, I can't stand to see us overpay for another Brighton player.

MaCAllister for £55 million - okay. A player with a few seasons of experience and he was also being a bit of a star in a World cup winning side. . .£55 million is a fair price. And Caicedo has had one decent season - 45 games total - with Brighton and he is worth £80 million. Now the reports are saying that they want £100 million. lol. Still don't see how that adds up. Yes, Moises Caicedo has potential, but so did the Cucu at one point. imho all the big clubs should walk away and leave him at Brighton for another season to gain more experience and see what his price is next summer. OR just give them Cucurella back in a straight swap.
June 16, 20233 yr Can't believe the £100m is accurate unless it is including a sh*t ton of favorable add ons for Brighton. Part of Caicedo's extension last January had an agreement that it would facilitate a move this summer, so I can't see Brighton pissing him two windows in a row. Think real price is £70-80m
June 16, 20233 yr Don't believe the overinflated numbers in the media. I do hope we get this one over the line though - exactly the type of energy and tenacity our midfield needs.

It's made worse when they include wages in the headline figure.

It is always over inflated when it is Chelsea. Liverpool spent £55m on Mac Allister and it was widely reported as £35m. So maybe it is the Chelsea PR machine which is at fault? We have never had good PR ever since Bates.

The money discussed is already beyond ridiculous. I mean the money for any of these lads is ABSURD. It is just the 'shame' we feel when our stars are 'what a waste of money' type of players. I just hope Caicedo is a good fit for us and the energy and the tenacity continues when he is here.
