West Ham signed Ward Prowse and he started straight away, the fact we couldn't do the same with Caicedo is very worrying. Not to mention the performance when he did come on.

One missed pre-season, one has already played game, not a difficult one to work out mate.

He missed all of preseason and is clearly not match fit, people need to be easy on him rather than writing him off after about 20 mins. The comparisons to Bakayoko are absurd.

He didn't miss all of pre season though, he played in two of Brighton's games. 60 minutes in one game and 30 minutes in another. He has been training throughout pre season as well, it's not like he has been out injured. Madueke didn't kick a ball in pre season because he was injured, but he didn't look anywhere near as bad as that. If Caicedo is as good as some claim he is, then he should never perform like that, pre season or no pre season. His natural ability should get him through.

The Bakayoko comparisons are fair because that was as bad as it can get from Caicedo today. Easily one of the worst debuts I have ever seen.

Like I said above, he didn't miss pre season. He played and trained, it wasn't like he was injured.

Ward-Prowse featured in Southampton's first games this season and all their pre-season. Caicedo has had no competitive football since last season.

Has caicedo not trained at all at Brighton?

Thanks for looking, I thought as well he did play.

He has to start considering the price we paid. If he is worth it he would be fine v West Ham.

Scott, I kept saying we should walk away from him. He had played just one good season , it was madness to buy yet another one season wonder from Brighton.

But nearly everyone was going crazy for us to buy him and gloated because Liverpool lost out.

I don't know what you felt at the time, but we can't judge him on a bit part performance ?

He didn't start today for some good reason maybe ?

You noticed ?

Was getting a hint from your posts, just wanted to check.

Don't let what other fans say bother you mate, we all have our way of coping.

Absolute shocker. Worst debut performance I can recall. Only way is up. Needs a good box around the ears to get rid of the star dust.

Get the worst performance out of the way first game. It's a really tricky circumstance for him to play, he's never an attacking option we need at that stage. I'm sure he will get over it, and who gives a f* on what Liverpool people think?

Reminded me of Silva’s horrific debut for us. Let’s hope he follows the same trajectory!

That’s the first Chelsea related thing since the match to make me laugh. Needed that, and you’re spot on

Poor decision by Poch to bring him on as it must have been clear within a training session he was yards off the pace. We now have a player who is under pressure from the media waiting for his every mistake.

Can't understand why he came on yesterday and he had an absolute shocker.

Only blessing is that it didn't happen the previous week against the Dippers, as they would have had an absolute field day (with many on social media already about how they dodged a bullet).
