He'll be fine. It's the alleged reports he will also go to the Olympics I am worried about.

It really depends on what he would be doing. If it's the archery I'm fine with it. Would be worried if it was the new Olympic event of Break Dancing though.

I think I am right in saying the Olympics are not a fifa sanctioned football event. So I believe we can refuse to release him for it.

I’ll be careful with that one .. most South American players will want to play the olympics.

i think Enzo is waiting to explode .. hopefully the new manager can unlock him- especially with his injury out of the way.

Yep, we can stop him if we want to. I hope we do and he sees the logic behind doing so. Big summer ahead with a new manager to adapt to with Fernandez likely to be vital part of the system he tries to implement.

Can see why Club put foot down, to the owner Clearfake he’s their second biggest capital investment, they’ve just funded his surgery and recovery, they want a Return on their outlay even one amortized over 8 years! If he goes to Paris he misses lot of pre season because probably goes all the way, then a fortnight off returning not really rested and there’s always a risk of injury when playing.

or

Could argue he must be  fit again so why not let him warm up, get back in the groove with a properly run team that he won big time with, he could win a  🏅 maybe, then quick getaway to rest up before joining the camp late.

It the right choice from a selfish point of view, having him potentially play 10+ games over the summer when you include Copa America and the Olympics which would make him miss the whole of pre-season would be a real ballache for Maresca considering Enzo is likely to be a key figure in the team.

It shows the difference in expectation though. Maresca hasn't yet been unveiled and it is already on him to steer a careful path on this one.

I suspect that his opinion would be that if Fernandez wants to go to the Olympics then, so be it, its all match fitness he is getting, but if when he returns the team has bonded through pre season and a midfield grouping has settled it will be up to Fernandez to disrupt that and try to break his way in.

The board (SDs) however will be nah, we can't have our prize £100m guy sat on the bench not playing.

Enzo Elder, when they were talking about the difference in levels it wasn't just on the pitch mate.

Chelsea have blocked Gusto and Badiashile from joining up with France's Olympic squad. Expect the same with Enzo.

Well we could hardly block Enzo but allow others to go.

Nor are City in the same transitional season as we are.

Transitional season 3 and counting.

Let's seem how Enzo, Gusto and Badiashile react to being denied a place at the Olympics. Already a few reports the players are unhappy with the club since Poch got sacked.

Which on face value is exactly what we have done seeing as Ugochukwu is in the Olympic squad !

Maybe a loan is in plan for Lesley, so his absence in pre-season is inconsequential ?

I can almost here them griping to each other about the appallingly run club and the way they are treated, as they are leaning out of the windows of their Bentleys chatting after a 2 hour training session......for the day. What next, a gruelling suite of online DEI training courses to get through! Monday's, Jeez.

Yeah you have to assume Lesley is not in Enzos plans. Is the only way you could justify it to Gusto and Badiashile.
