Sounds like Zaha thought he was an actual ghost (his ghost tribute act is strong - unlike the man) and tried to run through him.

Fooled the ref too!

Very entertaining game but overall we were bang average especially going forward and extremely fortunate at the back thanks to Tiago / Kepa/ Badishali.   VGood game from Hall and a great replacement for Chillwell; CC can warm the bench for the rest of the season.  This midfield and forward line needs sorting out though and although we've signed some decent players I'm not sure GP can fit all the right pieces together and form a cohesive unit both from an attacking and defensive standpoint.    I hope GP doesn't think that this game was a game to turn the tide, I'm afraid it just papered over the cracks.

I heard Pat Nevin say he had bad cramp at the end, doesn’t this mean he actually moved?

Last 10 minutes, particularly, they threw the kitchen sink at us. Jorginho was the usual nightmare offering no defensive protection at all. Failed to cut out a cross out wide from Olise, failed to slide and win an easy cross-field tackle, didn't mark anyone, didn't win any headers. BUT thanks mainly to Silva and Kepa especially, we got over the line.

Other that that he had a decent game. But nothing to keep your man Zakaria out of the starting lineup when he's fit.

Only divine intervention can stop Zakaria.

Hall - 5 - Gaining experience by the game, but still very raw. Some decent attacking moments, but needs to stop panicking when closed down or when he runs out of space.

Silva - 8 - Brilliant, best player on the pitch by a mile. Positioning is world class, made some great blocks and headed clearances, especially towards the end when we really needed it.

Agreed on Hall, poor decision making, no end product too but I suppose he’s 18 and playing out of position.

Silva is MOTM by default at this stage, cult legend even if he left today. Not too keen on 4 CB’s on towards the end but I understand it.. won’t accept that going forward though.

You sound absolutely gutted. We all need things to look forward too. And when some of our 11 injured players are back and results start picking up, I look forward to you f**king off. And @TimesUpPotter

When Potter gets hold of his first team and when we get some half decent players and we we get back to the top half of this league every one of the 'so called' Chelsea fans that have been whinging non stop about Potter should b*gger off from here and go support Man City.

i just want some standards in Chelsea FC, beating Crystal Palace at home 1-0 with such nervy ending shouldnt be anything to celebrate

Who cares about standards right now? We just need to win. Doesn't matter how doesn't matter when.

We worry about standards when the whole team is fit and ready

We have our usual 'issues' ie wobbly moments at the back and nobody to put the ball in the net, HOWEVER, like against Fulham we were the better side today and unlike against Fulham we got our just reward - 3 points!  I liked the look of Badiashile, if this new fella sitting in the stands is half decent and we can get the walking wounded back off their crutches we should start to see some 'growth'.  As Ken Bates once said in his programme on the first day of the new season 1983-84 after our worst ever finish the season before - "a lot of people were pressuring me to sack John (Neal) at the end of last year but instead I decided to back him - I did this because  there were a lot of injury issues last year and FRANKLY A LOT OF THE PLAYERS WERE QUITE SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH - the rest is as we know history.

Its blatantly obvious quite a few of our players now are 'quite simply, not good enough'

On a side note, was a bit perplexed by this, 0-0 with 30 odd minutes played and Potter/the players have no inclination to re-enforce ideas?.. just Jorginho came over, Chuk and Hall had some water 2 minute before the screenshot but no dialogue.

You don't need anyone else but Jorginho for a clean sheet, Potter knows what he's doing.

LOL. Great step in the right direction ish but its taken Todd laying down the law not the manager. Its one game and im still not convinced by Potter.

Vialli ceremonies put some fight in us. We looked on from the first minute. We need to build on this with small steps. We will absolutely lose games as we go but we need something to build on.

He was probably just reminding old Jorgy boy which way we were playing so the ball stopped going back to Kepa with every pass.

I think that we were good today. The defence looked solid bar some errors by Hall, but I’m happy with how he’s performed (and so the whole of Stamford Bridge judging by the applause when he was substituted). He’ll get better with the minutes he’s playing. And I did like Badiashile, he looked solid, composed with the ball and looked good overall, much better than KK. The midfield looked solid and I thought that Gallagher did well ( and Jorginho bar his usual defensive carencies). Attacking wise we created a missed, as usual. Havertz could have got a header hat trick, thankfully he scored one. And I have enjoyed Chuku, especially in the first half. He looks direct and tries to do things, better than other options.

Just got in from the womens game. Caught a bit of the first half and a bit of the second on a dodgy stream and the last 20 minutes on the radio.

Were we any better than the usual sh*te or not despite the win?

We weren't but there was an inkling of a fight and that's a spark we needed

Shows he's a top manager!

Speaking of Rashford, he's exactly what makes the difference in games. Look at him at Utd, he's found form again and so important for Utd right now. We need someone like him, direct, always looking to score, causing defenders headaches. We don't have players of that description at the moment. Hopefully Felix and Mudryk can be that.

I mentioned us goign for Rashford in the summer window actually and got roundly mocked for it.

::MooNeY::To all of you mockers. You knwo who you are
