Mykhailo Mudryk signs for Chelsea

Featured Replies

He keeps kicking the ball too far in front of himself. It's because he's not composed on the ball, he wants to do everything at 100mph. It's the same with a lot of players in the team, Madueke tries dribbling but leaves the ball behind all of the time. I feel like the only young player we have signed with any composure is Palmer. Doesn't help that they are learning from Sterling who never looks composed.

The biggest reason why mudryk played better the last two games because bournemouth and villa played high line (one of the reason why poch played him).

He played better but with his speed he need to absolutely abuse villa high line, Chilwell got a shot and a cross in 30 min by just running behind. Mudryk only ran behind once and that is not enough.

What mudryk need to do is to tone down his dribbling by 10 fold. Simplify his game. Focus on running behind and pass.

Until mudryk realize that he is not Neymar, he won't reach his potential.

He is ridiculously fast but he keep asking the ball to his feet. Run behind please.

Surprised there's such a reaction in here.

Should have had 2 assists last night if Jackson could hold his run in behind and Jackson could finish from the cut back Mudryk made after beating Porro.

Yeah this is why I know he will end up being a good purchase in the long run, he creates good chances. Much easier to learn how to dribble effectively than it is to pass/create.

This is the 1st time I heard this.

Good dribbler is very hard to produce in academy.

You aren't in the academy to dribble like Ronaldhino or Neymar, you are there to dribble in an efficient and effective manner which is often very very simple things like a step over.

Learning when to pick a pass and all the other things associated with it is a much harder skill to develop which is why when players like Palmer come along they are special.

The Palmer who came through the Man City academy and schooled by Pep. Mudryk arrived on the back of 29 starts with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Ok? What's your point exactly? I'm not following.

I'm not saying Mudryk is as good as Palmer. Simply stating that Mudryk is a good passer of the ball and creates chances so there's still hope yet of him making it.

Only that they're miles apart in development. I agree Mudryk has the potential.

I thought he did quite well, created chances and made some excellent runs, often going unpicked unfortunately, he looked frustrated at times having to come back after a well timed run.

😱😱😱

This is the 1st time I have ever heard this. Aademy can produce decent midfielder or defender every year but asking them to produce attacker let alone one on one winger is almost impossible.

Agreed, on another day 2 assists.

I'm fed up with us pissing about in the centre and right, seeing Mudryk in acres of space on the left, making runs, and the the ball never going to him. countless times you'll see him without a defender within 12 yards of him. Last night was made for him, and we never really tried to utilise him properly.

No amount of game time is going to help this guy. I think he;s had more yellow cards from dribbling at people, than he has beaten the man. Truly one of the worst signings we've ever made, considering the cost.

There was once an analysis I watched by former managers on how different the EPL is compared to all the other leagues in terms of new players and the time they need to adjust to the new environment which truly is a whole new world for a footballer.

Some hit the ground running from day one, but around 90% of them, especially very young ones, need a lot of time to adjust to the league.

There are tons of examples of players who looked like Sunday League footballers in their first season and then turned into EPL superstars down the years.

Some need time at the club, some need a loan out, either way statistically speaking the chance of a new arrival in this league to put Bellingham (Real Madrid) numbers in his first season is the lowest in world football.

It's incredibly hard for homegrown players, too, nevermind foreigners. Take Bukayo Saka for example - homegrown player, looked like a bang average, left footed Alex Iwobi in disguise in his first two seasons in the Arsenal first team. Only in his 3rd he started looking decent, when they bottled top four and he basically exploded onto the scene in his 4th season when Arsenal had that go at the league title.

Martinelli also exploded in his 4th year (the last one) after three average seasons.

Sancho, a homegrown player, finds it difficult to adjust to the EPL culture. Salah looked like a donkey first time he arrived here and needed time away to improve. I mean the examples go and on. I know that for every example there is someone like Haaland, but still the percentage of new arrivals and those who break into the first team from the academy that need two or even three seasons to adjust to this league is incredibly high.

He was awful when he had the ball in space. Im convinced he's not good enough. Dribbling the ball so far ahead and never had any control.

Also Mudryk is not classed as a Wonderkid on FM. That Roony that scored against Utd is and we alll know FM don't miss. Our scouts need FM.

Until what age can you be considered wonderkid in fm?

Mudryk will be 23 in Jan.
