I've heard some transfer muppetry in my time but Madrid taking Mudryk even on a free must be at the top of the list.

If he could stay fit James would be spoken of in the Madrid halls up there with Roberto Carlos and Marcelo.

Ah such a shame.

If I were Mudryk, I will ask for loan move.

Gets zero support when colwill plays behind him

needs to play in front of chilwell

That`s obvious to every Chelsea fan with half a functioning brain. Too bad Poch insists on playing Colwill at LB even though Chilwell is one of the best LBs in the PL.

I imagine that's pretty demotivating for all three left backs in the squad to see a rookie centre back picked ahead of them in their specialist position.

Mudryk did much better for me today, and was unlucky to be the one sacrificed after Gusto got sent off. Emery/Villa were no doubt delighted to see that substitution being made.

I still thought he was pretty rubbish in all honesty. He made a nice pass into Jackson in the first half, but he can't take players on, and for a pacey winger, that isn't good enough. Watching him try and dribble and end up losing the ball is infuriating. He can't seem to get the beating of anybody. In a counter attacking team, he would be a lot better because he can use his pace, but we play against teams that sit deep in 90% of our games.

He's created 4 pretty good chances though? Jackson and Gallagher against Bournemouth (then subbed off for what ever reason).

Jackson's chance today and beating Cash + delivering a great cross where normally an attacker would be at the end of. (then subbed off again instead of Sterling).

Thought it was his best performance so far - albeit in flashes. I think we’re starting to see some signs of improvement.

I have faith. With that said, he's still very raw and not good enough to take over this role as our number 10. It's tough, Hazard had the benefit of having tons of great players and leaders around him when he came, Mudryk doesn't have that luxury.

But Hazard was sensational from the off, caused instant chaos for defenders, his individual brilliance would of shine in any team…

Well, truth be said there's that too.

Maybe at some point he'll get a full game.

Our best-attacking player in the last two games to be subbed off in both. I get that yesterday was tactical after the red card, but Sterling stayed on the pitch instead. Mudryk was clearly the better player.

Out of curiosity, what is the level of performance required for him to have 'come good'? Is it just fairly consistent with decent performances and maybe 5 or 6 goals in a season, or is it more the fighting off Real Madrid, Balon d'Or threatening type of level? Having paid an initial £65 million, would the lower end level be deemed a good return on the outlay?

Ps. the thread title really brings out the Finbarr Saunders in me. Fnarr fnarr.
