Mykhailo Mudryk signs for Chelsea

I think we're forgetting that we are not a settled side.

We're not seeing the best of anyone right now let alone Mudryk. If any of these players were signed for more established sides with stable management and players they would likely be showing a lot more than they are now.

Hazard was good when he arrived but he also had a large number of games under his belt in Ligue 1 (147 games ) and came into a squad full of experience with some of our greatest ever players. That makes a huge difference in my opinion.

I agree but I also think the players who reach the very very top have an arrogance and confidence that gets them there. Not necessarily in their behaviour but more so in their game. Hazard came into a much more stable set up, but it was still a Di Matteo led Chelsea undergoing a transition away from the 'old guard' at the time. Yet from the very first game Hazard played like he belonged, he looked like he knew he deserved to be there.

I thought Mudryk would have the same vibe but he doesn't at this point. And you could argue that its easier to become the 'main man' in a squad where there currently aren't any (Compared to Hazard competing with the previously mentioned greatest ever players).

But I do agree in general, its hard to expect his best when we are so poor right now. And I do honestly think he is growing in every game we see him.

Mudryk has been our best attacking player the last two games.

Now that’s not saying much with scoring a grand total of 0 goals but you’ve got to stick with him.

As a winger when you’re looking in the box and it’s the Senegalese Sidwell in the box to target what more can you do?

FaCtS...

37 G/A in his first season with us. He would have been our POTS is not for Mata putting up generational numbers.

Speaking of which, I hear he's still a free agent...

I do think Mudryk is growing also and it's going to take time if we consistantly give him chances. Though Hazard had over 140 apperances in Ligue 1 with 30+ goals, Mudryk was only just starting his career in Ukraine when we bought him. It's the same as many of our signings and I think it's unfair to compare him to Hazard due to this reason.

It's the fundamental issue with our transfer policy, it's not the age of the players its the amount of competitive football they have had under their belt.

Keep playing him... see what happens

There is no better strategy really, specially since we don't even look like we can compete for any place in a European competition so there is no negative there to keep playing him.

He already has a good connection with Jackson so just make him a permanent starter and the maybe it turns out into something special.

Just watch this. I don't understand how people can say that Mudryk is at the same level as Doku.

I watched city vs forest full game. After just 30 min, I am confused how city can keep doing this and why we got Mudryk and city got doku. This is just ridiculous.

Doku is more than ready, all he need to add number to his game and he will be elite.

I keep reading this excuse for many player yet they are never proven to be true.

Kai can't finish for Chelsea, he can't finish for Arsenal.

Jorgi can't screen defense for Chelsea he can't screen defense for Arsenal.

Mudryk play the same way with Chelsea and with Ukraine.

There's a huge difference walking into a treble winning team and playing for a team that finished 12th and have only 5 wins in a calender year. It's not hard to understand, Doku maybe better than Mudryk we don't know that but if Mudryk signed for Arsenal do you think he will be playing with more confidence than he is now?

We didn't have only 5 wins in a year when Mudryk signed for us.

The main reason we've got so few wins this year is because we filled our team with so many poor quality untalented young players like Mudryk.

The jury is still out on Mudryk but we've paid a lot of money for him and now he needs a run of games. I think we've had a poor window not because of the quality we've bought but down to the sheer number of players and lack of competitive experience. They are not untalented, they are simply unproven.

I've said this before, this is our bed and we must lie in it.

If we signed Doku instead of City i'd put money on it that he'd end up like everyone else here.

This might be true for Nkunku too, he looked great but maybe he'll blend in with the rest once he comes back from injury...

Was nice to see him get a standing ovation last night. He did really well. Still room for improvement but you can see his confidence is growing. Caused Lamptey a few problems and also looked threatening when he kept cutting inside. Good to see that Poch is giving him an extended run.

Maybe the fans appricate he is a fighter? You felt the ground lift whenever Broja got near the ball.

Mind you Conor is a fighter and not that popular it seems.

90% of that video is literally Doku attempting to take a player on and then cutting back to recycle possession. 😂

Jack Grealish surely your favorite player in the world then.

😱😱😱

That is how you want your winger to play. Doku is playing within the framework of the team, take on player when it is one on one. Bait player when it is 2 v 1, then pass back to create space for others. Connect with your CF, midfieder, make passes to the box.

Depends if you want to be Spain 2012 and bore your opponents to death.

Rather a winger that creates chances beating players on the dribble or finding the direct pass vs recycling possession 90% of the time.

Fair point. Watched the last 10mins of the City game v Newcastle and he was their main outlet. He has got bags of trickery but still very raw, he also doesn’t seem like the type of player Pep would ideally go for. He is very exciting though, and just like with Murdyk here would only get better if you keep playing them.

I watch only 45 min of Doku game vs forest and if Mudryk play like that, I will praise Mudryk to death. No more talk about raw. Forget Chilwell, even if Nkunku and Carney are back no way they will play over Mudryk.

Hopefully you are right about Mudryk. I had high hope on Mudryk but everytime I watch him play it goes down more and more.

Just have to keep starting him to build his confidence

good game from him I thought, hes growing more and more into it and you can see the confidence building. Hoping Poch carries on playing him.

things are slowly coming together, hopefully we use this win to build and carry on and get the results to go with our performances

"I think he’s doing a massive effort to try to integrate himself and to understand better what it means to play like a team."

All his decision making problem boil down to this. There are some movement and finding separation problem but that can be coached easily.
