Ivan Toney, PL proven, so won't need time to adapt. Not that expensive (50M at best). Let's see what will happen with his bets issues.

This squad doesn't need a world class striker which will cost more than 100M with another risk of falling.

We just need a real 9.

Could be on the cards  Buried another penalty last night. We have been looking for a proven penalty taker since Jorginho left.

Probably wouldn't crack Todd's list of top 5 dumb things he has done if he did bring back Rom. Honestly he could not make this teams attitude stink any more than ot already does, and that is saying something.

Gabriel Jesus gets my vote. Had we signed him last summer, something tells me we'd be in a significantly better position as it stands.

Rather telling that Arteta went all out for Jesus and Zinchenko but stayed well clear of Sterling. That should have raised alarm bells.

There seems to be a general consensus that Ivan Toney is the man.

Does anyone have any information on his ban? Last I heard he'd be serving up to 6 months.

Is Ivan Toney going to be suspended?

Toney is expected to serve a lengthy ban for his alleged breaches of the FA’s betting rules.

These stretch from 2017, when he was on Newcastle’s books, to 2021, after he had joined Brentford from Peterborough.

Under FA rules, players operating at Premier League, English Football League, National League and The FA Women’s Super League and The FA Women’s Championship levels are banned from betting on football.

Toney is not the first to fall foul of betting rules with England defender Kieran Trippier banned for 10 weeks for insider trading for telling friends to ‘lump on’ ahead of his move to Atletico Madrid in 2019.

Joey Barton was also banned for 18 months for placing 1260 bets on football matches over a seven year period.

It is likely that Toney’s ban would fall between the two, but the context around some of his bets could affect the length of any punishment.

Toney himself has publicly questioned the FA’s handling of the information relating to his case following unsubstantiated claims he faces a six-month ban.

Not wrong Coco. Levy has always refused to do business with us. He understands the Tottenham/Chelsea hatred. Fair play to him. The bald, dwarf, trophy less cu* t

Apart from that I can't fault him.

I think Osimhen is the real deal. Scores all types of goals too, and is one the best in the air in Europe.

Cant see it happening though unless Lukaku goes the other way, but that's not really the profile De Laurentiis goes for, maybe Broja could be used as a make weight instead.

I've seen some strong link with Vitor Roque too though, looks very promising aguero type of centre forward, but at 18, I'm not sure he is ready to lead the line here every week.

If we somehow ended up with Osimhen and Vitor Roque, I would be doing cartwheels.

Hasn`t been good this season either. Not sure if Tammy is good enough.

Just need someone in the box to finish chances though with the service our wingers and wing backs can give. Tammy always had a knack for being in the right place.

The ban could start in May and end in November. That would mean missing 1/3 of the season. But in that time he would have plenty of training and integrating with the squad.

Next season i would be happy with these...

CF's - Broja, Toney, DD Fofana

2nd striker - Nkunku, Havertz,

Wide forwards - Mudryk, Madueke, Sterling

Number 1 choice would be Osimhen but if that's not possible due to FFP I'd like to see us go for Toney. Having watched him play for Posh most weeks during his time there it would be amazing to see him end up at a big club like us. Not to mention he ends up being the best defender at set pieces, something we're absolutely terrible at. Of course this depends on the ban he has coming up.

Hmm maybe I am remembering wrong but was not Brojas injury so severe that his estimated recovery time was 12-18 months?

I see a lot have said Toney, but I think it is extremely unlikely he moves anywhere until this betting thing has been sorted. That would be a crazy gamble, he could be out for the whole season after we sign him, and there is no telling what player you get at the end of it.

Great player, but a massive no for me with that hanging over his head.

You'd also have to think the whole betting thing is a huge red flag on his character in general ...
