Even if a new permanent manager had started immediately and failed to improve us, then people would have complained the board hadn't taken enough time to consider. Everything is hindsight. I would imagine any of the currently unemployed managers we are looking at for a start. At least they would have had a good look at the players BEFORE the transfer window so they would know who do get rid of, nothing hindsight about that !

This is what we were aiming for under Potter (who let's not forget built the foundation for the current Brighton team). Unfortunately- short term charlie's couldn't be patient, and new money discontent grew so we chucked out that plan - and are currently starting yet again If Potter had anything about him, he would have shown some sign of that, but he didn't. There was never any structure, never any clue who the first 11 should be, no identity to our game. He was sh*t and that doesn't change just because there has been no improvement under Lampard. This is as bad as the Southampton game, and they are bottom of the table. When he ran out of ideas, he went straight back to Tuchel's formation and tactics. The guy didn't have a clue in 5 months and was showing zero signs that things were going to improve under him.
April 15, 20233 yr I'm done for the season. These gutless charlatans have ruined it for me. They don't give a toss about our club. The owner needs a miracle and Frank should give up on management.

It’s modern football in a nutshell, it’s more about coaching than individual personalities and brilliance. If you are constantly booting it up the pitch trying to get out and break the press then that’s on the coaching. Playing for the badge and putting effort in is nonsense. Young players need clear instructions and they need to be coached on how to deal with different phases of play. Shows how important the coaching decision is. Spending 600m on players means nothing if the manager is incompetent

Not being able to convince a top coach to come in before the Madrid tie shows what an un appealing proposition Chelsea are, and pulling the trigger with no plan short or long term, shows what a shambles the club are right now. By all accounts Enrique was very happy to take over about an hour after the Potter news came out ... saw it as a great opportunity.

Only thing I'll say in his defense is that he was lumped with a dozen new players all signed for ludicrous money and expecting to play.
April 15, 20233 yr HT: Chelsea 1-1 Brighton Brighton attempted 12 shots in the first half at Stamford Bridge, the joint most that Chelsea have faced in the first half of a Premier League home game on record (since 2003-04).

And it’s not the players anymore because Brighton does not have better players then us, just better coaching and organisation. I wanted Potter to gone but that was with the thought of the board having a clue which now clearly they don’t. If the plan was to replace Potter with Lampard keep Potter. Is this how it goes then: - Potter is woeful, sack him! - Cheering when he is sacked - "We didn't mean it"

Not to mention De Zerbi has won a league title with Shakhtar as well There's no doubt he is a good manager, I'd just prefer someone who has proven themselves at the top level from this point on, we can't afford any more risks.

April 15, 20233 yr We are being torn to pieces here! Still blaming Potter are we!!!???? At least under Potter we were dominating possession and getting shots off at goal! Now we have NOTHING, no possession, no shots, nothing! I thought that some on here told us we would be better without Potter!!?
April 15, 20233 yr In the days of Roman we had no problem getting an interim manager of quality when needed. In fact there was a queue. Boehly carrys no clout in this arena, he's a junior sadly.
April 15, 20233 yr De Zerbi has moved to the top of my list next to Nagelsmann, Brighton play great football
