Nicolas Jackson - striker

Anyone that believed he was going to be the answer to our problems up top would have been naive. He's a younger striker with potential. We still need someone who can consistently score 18/19/20 goals.

After a decent game in pre-season:

"Strength of Drogba, picks up ball deep and reminds me of Yaya Toure, so powerful…"

We can be funny, us football fans.

Not stupid actions. They aren't robots who can't show emotions only when they are scoring for Chelsea. They can shag who they want, speak to whichever woman they want. The woman in question was the one who decided to put that video out there, not him. He went to visit some friends in Villareal on his day off. Big deal.

People look way too deep into these things. I think it would make everyone's mental health better if they avoided social media entirely when it comes to what our players are doing. It's almost like fans think players should stay in their homes and never leave, only for training and Chelsea related stuff.

He could have all the fun he wanted to during day off, nobody has a problem with that if he's doing it in his own space. Posting all over social media right after a big loss it's the problem. Unless he's going to make money as an influencer, he needs to choose wisely about when and what to post. It's part of the responsibility of being a professional footballer. As for the other matter, again nobody's business until it damages the Chelsea brand, so he needs to make better decisions.

He got an assist yesterday for Colwill and hit the target with a goal attempt.

Think he is still our best front man for the time being, now Poch might replace hum Ngunku or play both.

Off-sides are frustrating Timo was caught out many a time.

Not reading the play is disappointing too again many are guilty of doing that at times, think it is the time window you have when on the ball with looking up before you are closed down, a very short time.

Sorry, not good enough IMO.

If he passed his medical in January he'd be at Bournemouth now.

That's his level.

Either doesn't hold the ball up, or messes up simple passes or he runs with the ball until he's crowded out.

I'd be shocked if he turns into anything more than a squad player for us.

Why is Poch sticking with him? Surely Broja deserves a run of games now.

In fact it’s gotten so bad I’ll be excited when I see Broja’s name on starting line up.

Nah according to this forum Broja is sh*t, never going to be anything and should be sold.

Not really Bob. Should be picking up minutes here and there from the bench. No way is he ready to be a starting centre-forward every week.

Strange that he showed good movement and some physical strength in the pre-season games and that has now completely disappeared. Needs benching and Broja given a try. Technically Broja is better anyway IMO.

If we were in League 1, yes, his performances would be fine. But at the moment we are in the Premier League and he looks totally out of his depth.

Bench him.

So the solution is selling him to Wrexham where he’ll shine.

They won't want him - they have Paul Mullin who is a better striker.

Maybe AFC Wimbledon......................

Imo Borja need a lot of playing time to get back to his best and it will be up and down. You can start him for 3/4 games and then he will be out for 1 month then you need to start all over again.

Nah he is fine. He should not be a nailed down starter but that is different conversation.

We need a demba ba/remy.

This bit made me laugh, but in all honesty we are actually closer to relegation than Europe.

I had high hopes for Nkunku coming back but we've just got too many other limp forwards for him to make that big a difference IMO.

One of the hardest positions on the pitch and at this club especially and he will get extra criticism.

He is an awful footballer, the definition of dear in headlights. He wouldn't start for any premier league team right now.

Broja needs to be our number 9 going forward.

Shearer was the making the case last night for bringing someone in during the January transfer window. The only one possibly available and proven to have done it in the EPL is Ivan Toney.

When N'kunku does finally make a return it will take a good while to bring him up to speed. With his injury record he will need to be eased in rather than thrown in.

As bad as Jackson has been, I don't believe another striker would change much results wise.

It's why I'm not really pushing for us to sign another striker in Jan, if we must then I would also rather we go for Toney as you know what you are getting, but we have huge problems in midfield overall that need addressing before any striker can come here and start scoring regularly.

That's mind boggling to read if you think of how much money we've spent in midfield. We shouldn't even be looking in the market for a midfielder, this is what we have now and it needs to work.

No I don't agree with that Remodez. I feel a proven centre-forward will bring so much to this team. Especially one like Toney whose best assets are his strength, hold up play and aerial ability.

As for the midfield I have no concerns at all with Enzo's vision and creative ability. Several times last night he looked to play Jackson in early. But Jackson either didn't move or made the wrong run. Generally Jackson's positioning and anticipation is awful when the ball is coming into the box.

Caicedo I'm more concerned with. I thought he was going to give us some of the ball-winning and ball-carrying abilities Kante had. Plus beef us up a bit in the central midfield with more of a physical presence. He is failing on all fronts at the moment and, currently, Rice looks like the player we should have gone for rather than Caicedo.
