Jackson robbing Palmer of this assist should be an automatic droppable offence

The relationship hes building with Cole is key going forward.

Nice he is finally choosing the right option on goal.

I don’t see the problem.

He got an assist, had a goal cleared off the line, excellent work rate, great link up, a constant menace against brighton’s defence.

His partnership with Palmer is fantastic, the way Palmer set him up for that chance, that’s all down to their partnership and that’s key. A goal scoring chance out of nothing.

I can see why people find him frustrating but I’m happy with him. He’ll get many, many more assists and a few more goals and that’s good enough for me.

Wasn’t his day today but is learning each game. Needs to move on, keep getting in the right positions and the goals will continue. Bit of an enigma - when he plays he always leaves you wanting more, but when he’s missing we lack pace, directness and some level of movement up top.

You get the sense today epitomises Jackson.  Excellent runs which Palmer picked out like Glen Hoddle in his prime and then the downside, the clinical finishing is more like Kezman in his prime.  

His stats are undeniably impressive but there is no doubt he will continue to oscillate between giving us reason to cheer and ripping our hair out in frustration.

As a number 9 he might not be the best option in every game, but I think Nkunku would have scored 2 or 3 today against that high line

Today was a day, without doubt or question, that @nonotnowjim won hands down.

No matter how good his stats are, if he keeps missing easy chances or important chances that can change a game, he is going to struggle to win the fans over. Because at the end of the day, those moments are what fans are going to remember.

What easy chances did he miss against Brighton? The majority he gets on target, if the keeper saves it then fair play.

Jackson can progress the ball with his pace, and brings others into play. The assist to Cole is an example of that.

The guy gets far too much hate to the point it's actually quite embarrassing.

One of Drogba's best games in a chelsea shirt invovled him scoring no goals, also not the worlds most clinical finisher, strangly when it really clicked for him we didn't win the league that season. 

Will Jackson continue to fustrate, probably for a bit longer, he's still learning. Still offers a lot to the team, big fan. Also a big fan of Nkuku and do think we should see a bit of rotation.

The time he takes to get shots off in these instances is ridiculous.

Poor example, the guy literally took a touch of a high ball out of the air, the ball unfortunately ran just behind him as he took it past the keeper, which meant he had to re-adjust accordingly. This picture doesn't really paint the correct picture, as the defender put in a ridiculous effort to make the block.

You keep to your sad narrative though.

It was a poor touch, then he took an age to set himself to shoot at an open goal. He's done it before, just takes far too long in these situations.

If it’s the chance I’m thinking of, the ball was going in and only an incredible last line save from the defender stopped it from going in.

A poor touch?? The keeper was closing him down, the defender wasn't far off him. The ball was coming down from a great, he kept onside whilst the ball was played as well.

Jackson did everything he could to turn that high ball into a half chance on goal. Cherry picking exact moments doesn't make your point any less absurd.

Why is it absurd exactly?

He went wide, he then spent far too long getting a shot of to allow a defender time to cover. A top class striker should score in that position.

It is absolutely mental that some of our posters are trying to justify him missing an open goal. I genuinely think that they have not watched the game - or even the highlights. 

Wackos control was poor - it took him wide. But even with his self inflicted poor touch, he still had an open goal to aim at.  But he fluffed it....because he is sh*t.
