Nicolas Jackson - striker

Felix or Nkunku there won't work, let's not pretend that there is a chance of it working, if there ever was a possibility for them to play there someone would have tried it already...

Guiu should be getting the chance, I can't see why wouldn't he at this point in time.

Yep - with Nkunku having 1 foot out the door, and Wacko the donkey possibly the worst footballer ever to have played in the EPL - the option is Guiu, recall Broja, go false 9, or buy a striker.

Ranked:

1) buy

2) Guiu

3) false 9

4) Choose a youth striker from the reserves

5) broja

6) persist with jackson as an absolute last resort.

Ouch the match before last he provided an assist for Palmer, he is certainly not the best striker yet he still has attributes, Broja did not impress at all on his last opportunity.

Broja is also injured again.

I'd rather have Liam up front than Broja and he is in his sixties and lost a leg in the Falklands.

Seriously, anybody that used that as an excuse hasn't got a clue what they are talking about. I'm embarrassed for you.

I genuinely think many of our posters don't have any idea - or perhaps don't even watch the games.

The constant championing and defending of a player who is clearly, oh so very clearly, rubbish - is embarrassing.

I watched Van Dijk's interview the other day where Nunez scored the winning goal for Liverpool, the person interviewing asked him if Nunez had deserved that moment after all of the difficulties he had gone through at the club. Van Dijk responded by not feeling sorry for him, or relieved for him, he said he had to earn it and basically pointed out that you can't feel sorry for yourself in sport.

Our lot wouldn't be like that. It would be "I'm so happy for him, it's been so hard for him". When Palmer saves our ass, all our players say "keep saving us mate". Jackson today went off sulking when he was subbed, it's pathetic. You were sh*t mate, f**k off somewhere else if you want people feeling sorry for you.

Some said it a few pages before he is Salomon Kalou.. can do a job in some games .. but my lord a striker for a club with aspirations.. might as well play CC there..

can hold up.. constantly running down blind alleys.. shots are mostly week.. doesn’t link up particularly well..

drama queen for sure..

That was me, although I pinched it from twitter.

He isn't good enough, realistically the club need a spine of players that are in their prime to bring the team together.

Diogo Costa

Bastoni

Zubimendi/Barella

Osimhen

The rest of the team would develop around them.

Now you.might look at that list and think there is no way we can afford those players, but this ownership has already spent £1.3B on players, just let that sink in. The money is there, we are just about to waste another £60m on Garnacho.

Assisted our only open-play goal (again). His replacement did f**k all.

It's bad that we have no functional alternative to Jackson (yet another problem caused by our incompetent squad planning) but he has been a bigger scapegoat than Leonard Peltier.

Given too much responsibility far too soon which is evident now. He’s still improving but a top class forward is needed now with experience.

You see improvement? I see someone getting worse with each and every match. He's woefully bad and I would rather we play with a false 9 as opposed to a 9 who is offering so little EVERY game.

People who make that point either weren't Chelsea fans then or were born in the 2000s and didn't get to see Drogba. Jackson is no Drogba.

Said it before, I'd stick him at left wing for a bit, and try Felix up top with Nkunku in #10 and Palmer on the right.

Take some of the heat off him.

Rotate Chukwuemeka with Nkunku at #10.

Jacko on LW is not going to be any less impotent than Sancho or Neto, who contribute pretty much nothing anyway !

Either that or try any formation that has two up top, and stick Nkunku alongside him

He hasn't done anything to deserve a place in the team. Regardless of position.

The only place i would consider playing him is in goal - as he can't be much worse than Sanchez

Fair play that you keep up this charade - defending him.

He got an assist today. A truly "world class" pass of 3 yrds. But you can't seriously be blinkered enough to suggest that a) he was decent for the rest of the game or b) that any footballer we have playing would have been able to make that exact same pass.

It was his 1 useful contribution all game. In fact - it was his 1 useful contribution for the last 6 or 7 games.  If you played Felix, Chris, Guiu for all these games - I am pretty confident that they could have made the same 3 yrs pass to madueke. They would probably have also scored the open goal that jackson missed.

He was awful. Again. For the upteenth time in a row.

Another brilliant Jackson performance today. How many is that without a goal now? 🫣🫢

And still some think he deserves to play!
