He did indeed get relegated to the bench but when he was fit he either played or was on the bench.I like most think he has too many mistakes in him but when some simply make up things about his time at Brighton when the facts tell a different story then to a degree they lose the argumentIn his last season at Brighton (22/23) he started 23 PL games , was on the bench for 10 and was injured for 5Thanks for info mate, I stand corrected 👍

July 11, 20251 yr Selling Petrovic must be because we plan to make Penders number 1 in the future....surely?

Stick with a goalie that's obviously not good enough? every player, manager and fan can see he isn't good enough.

Problem is we have to suffer season or two with Sanchez. The summer transfer window closes 1st of September so we have time to fix that.Maignan deal is dead so we'd need to find a keeper that is comfortable with his feet otherwise it is probably Sanchez.

Personally, I would have preferred to keep Petrovic for a year or two, wait and see how both Petrovic and Penders develop, then make a decision on who stays as our long term goalkeeper. If Penders doesn't develop, it's going to mean we will have to go out and spend big on another keeper.

The key is he will refuse to go anywhere but AC need to get some sort of fee for him. The clock on that is tickingKeep your eyes on our GK position. We have now shipped out three Bettineli, Kepa, Bergston and another , Petrovic, looks to be off. By my reckoning we have 3 senior keepers of note , a couple of others aren’t in contention and one of either Jorgensen and Penders will be on loan at Strasbourg. Edited July 11, 20251 yr by terraloon

Is being obtained for him. The suggestion being Foley AFC Bournemouth owner and BlueCo are rigging the price !
July 13, 20251 yr Early summer has been interesting. With our need for upgrade and reinforcements in GK and Mid, respectively, I thought Petrovic and Santos were no brainers into the squad, and even first team. If there POTS, captaining, and general stats weren't enough to open that door, then it will take some talent. Now, in Maresca's defense he always said he views the CWC as a continuation of the season, so I can see his desire to stick with players he trusts, even if that went out the window with Joao Pedro! Additionally, if the rumors are true about Petrovic wanting to be no.1, well he still has to earn that.Overall not bad business, and one can only assume they have other plans for the GK position between Penders and a possible transfer.
