I dont think we should be complaining about the passing around at the back. Its to control the game. Some of the great Chelsea sides of the past did exactly that. Under Mourinho, Ancelotti, Conte etc. waiting for the opportunity to open up. Cant just pass forward all the time and dribble at defenders all the time and lose possession.

I'm glad I gave up my season ticket a few years ago.  I regretted it for a while but there's no joy in watching this current team.

Worse than anything I saw in the 70s or 80s just devoid of any real talent or ability in attacking areas 

Somebody needs to tell the commentator how to pronounce Broja's name. It's certainly not Borja.

I think I've only heard his name mentioned twice so far,  I almost forgot he was actually playing.

We can't be this negative in the second half surely 

Burnley look so poor. Poch needs to give them a rocket because that first half performance was atrocious.

None of those sides did that. Mourinho's teams hit Drogba or wings as quick as possible. Ancelotti was about getting it into the attack with quick attacks. Conte used the defenders a bit more, but it was still about getting it to Hazard or Willian quickly.

Playing out of the back like we do started under Sarri. A ton of passes amongst the CB's looking for an opening that doesn't come. We try and play like City, but we will never be like them. I want us to play with high energy and quick attacking play.

Literally every one of the back line were at fault for the goal. 

players too static .too much back or sideways pass . i would bollock them c**ts , just for their sh*t attitude lazy fcks cant be bothered, just standing waiting for a pass .

That's the thing, our strikers will always suffer when we play possession football. By the time it gets anywhere near them, they are crowded out. Look at Broja against Fulham, the ball was hit into him early and he was heavily involved.

On the plus side, at least Man utd are losing as well. Another terrible piece of defending and Onana just letting it in underneath his arm.

Let’s not kid ourselves, that was a poor half from us, saved by a fluke down goal. 
Lots of possession with no incision

Broja today looks yards off the pace… 2 games in a week is possibly too much at this stage of his rehabilitation

This is a very winnable game, performance needs upping 10% and we get 3 pts
 

 

Time for the Cucurella experiment to end methinks. He is completely inept.

Sterlings done well again, Gallagher done well enough but we have to up the tempo and really go for it - all this poncing about at the back and in our own half does accomplishes nothing... the game is about putting the ball in the ff'ing net.

And surely we have someone else we can play on the right instead of Cucurella... he's like a fish out of water.

The great Chelsea sides did pass around the back 4 but we always had an outlet at the other end to be effective whether that was a target man or dangerous winger. Now we pass around the back without any plan on how to get the ball forward.

Good to get the goal before half time now let’s do these c**ts in the second half
