October 21, 20232 yr 4 minutes ago, just said: Yes. We threw it away. Literally. But soooooooooo many positives to take from that. A full strength Arsenal side, and we were miles better than them with half a team. Yeah it's a hard one to digest. Had I been offered that result beforehand I'd probably have been delighted to accept it. On the other hand it feels like we've pissed two points away (and the opportunity for a huge statement result and the associated momentum) which is absolutely gutting, particularly after the first hour.
October 21, 20232 yr Disappointing result, but it's great to see us becoming a functional team again. We were better than them all over the pitch except in goal, which is a worry because that will cost you points.
October 21, 20232 yr Really good performance. For the large part we made Arsenal look ordinary. Their keeper had a couple of shockers, only for our keeper to try and out-do him. The changes worked for them whereas we didn't look the same when Sterling, Myudryk and MOTM Palmer went off. Jackson offered absolutely nothing. Feels like a loss as we looked so comfortable up to Sanchez blunder. Silva was immense and didn't put a foot wrong and him and Colwill look a very solid pairing. Palmer is a revolution. Such technique and great vision and he has transformed us and looks undropable. We are getting better with each game and just a few tweaks and we should be up there challenging.

A minute before that we had just played a lovely passge of football. We look well coached and have some fine players. Not sure how we mitigate Sanchez’s brain fart distribution though. Seems to do something every other week. It was criminal and utterly unacceptable. So unfair to the other starting 10 players who all put nothing lower than an 8/10 performance. Sad thing is even at 2-0 I was thinking to myself, “how will we f**k this up?”

This is so infuriating but boehly has bought a bunch of second rate and mentally fragile players who collapse at the first hint of players. Just miss the times we used to outclass le arse comfortably. We're just not that good anymore. I think that's a bit harsh TBH. A howler from Sanchez turned this game upside down. Arsenal didn't deserve a 2nd goal but we should have wrapped this game up long before that. I think Potch has to take some of the blame here, especially with the subs, other than that his game plan was good but you could see it all got a bit ragged when Arsenal turned up the heat going for the 2nd goal.. there are young players not experienced the EPL, this will be a solid lessoned learned.

October 21, 20232 yr I can't believe I'm the only one who isnt murdering Sanchez. Gallagher needs to be alive to that pass. He's on his heels and rice steals the space.
October 21, 20232 yr I'm blaming Sanchez but Jackson should have taken his chance and scored (again)... In his defense he'd only been on a minute but I have to admit I thought the chance of him scoring for us after that were zero
October 21, 20232 yr Poch same mistakes as Potter taking of all our attacking players with over 15min left to hang on to a one goal lead it never ends well the outcome will always be the same we are not good enough to hold on

Switched off big time for Trossard's goal. Also has a tendency to over play and try cute moves. Trying to play around Rice out wide in the first half was a case in point. Rice just eased him off the ball and setup an attack. Gusto needs to recognise this is the EPL not Ligue 1.

Why should Gallagher expect the pass when he's surrounded by 3 players and facing his own goal ? Sanchez could've kicked it anywhere. He has to take full blame for this.

Images don't tell you the whole story. The pass wasn't even aimed at Gallagher, it was for Enzo, but he smashed it so hard that it went straight passed Enzo and became a hospital pass for Gallagher. It's 100% on Sanchez.

October 21, 20232 yr Gallagher, Palmer and Cucurella should be really, really proud about their performance. They noticeably gave absolutely everything out there. Still gutted about this. Fecking sell Sanchez in January.
October 21, 20232 yr The uncomfortable question is what do we do with him exactly? Keep playing him in the hopes he removes this from his game? Every other week he’s doing this sh*t. Not ideal to have a keeper like that if the ambition is to challenge for the league.

De Zerbi dropped him for a really poor goalkeeper in Jason Steele because of what he's done in every single game for us so far. Literally just gives the opposition the ball in really, really dangerous areas. He's not going to change. Whoever decided we should pay 25 million for him is out of his damn mind.
October 21, 20232 yr Beforehand a draw against a better side woild have been seen as a good result. Being 2-0 up with 20 to play a gifting it back to them, bottling it like we should have Hotspur in our name, makes it like a victory for Arsenal and loss for us. Very disappointing and a huge blow to us starting this hard run.
