Frustrating game to watch as there were some really promising signs but more of the normal frailties.

Gallagher and Palmer stood out for me in the first half and I thought Sterling and Modueke were lively.  However they all left their finishing boots at home.

Second half you could see the legs tiring after the game on Tuesday abd unfortunately the players coming off the bench with fresh legs contributed next to nothing.  If excuse Chilwell as he had more of a defensive job to do when he came on but Broja and Mudryk were invisible.

And at the half time people wanted exactly these player on second half and again blaming Poch after the game.

What Poch had to do other way???

Playing well Poch made subs played badly

nice on

The funny thing is whenever you look at matchday threads you always get the same muppets on here crying at Poch to get the deadwood on.  Then when he finally brings on Broja who cements his legacy as the worst striker in the clubs history every cameo people blame Poch for the subs making the team worse.

As a manager you've no hope when you don't have a single attacking option on the bench.

We played some beautiful stuff at times against a very good team. We have everything we need except a quality centre forward. Should buy Toney AND Osimhen if we can. Need both of them.

But its not only Center Forwards job to score goals.  Its all about team, wingers , fullbacks, attacking midfielders , defenders from set pieces ...all should take/have responsibility to score and its not happening.

A good Centre Forwards job is 1. Score goals, 2. Hold up play, 3. Bring all the other players into it creating goal scoring opportunities. 4. Keeping their central defenders under pressure.

Not in that particular order but they are all important so that if his goals dry up at least he in contributing.

At the minute we are not getting any of these especially with a false nine.

Frustrating we didn’t score. Very bright first half. Just didn’t take our chances. Story of our season really. Ran out of steam second half and they looked more likely to grab a winner. Petrovic made a great save and we hung on for the draw.

Still time to bring in a striker. But it’s getting a bit late now.

We are so desperate for a top striker is unbelievable. I totally believe a top notch forward would transform us.

We have one who’s had to put a few homemade notches on his belt…

I’ll consider it for 0.2 seconds.

No.

Result was not surprising, even a lose would not have been. However, felt like an opportunity lost, especially after the good performance few days ago. 4 CBs starting? I think it's unnecessary, even with injuries and fitness concerns. No striker either, even Broja wasn't considered prolific. Another extra game, and tougher game away, so think Villa would be the happier team. I didn't see much wrong with their goal to be honest, sometime you get a call in your favourite, really need to take advantage of it, and we didn't.

Boro away, Palmer false 9 he misses chances and his overall game loses something.

Today same thing.

Poch took our best player and made him a shadow of what he can be, Villa no doubt grateful he did.

If you want a false 9 play Sterling, or Mudryk, or Madueke or heck play Sanchez there. Dont cripple us by nullifying our best player!

Mudryk is a false whatever position you want him to be. Another anonymous performance,  4 touches, abysmal.

Point being if Palmer is in one of the two positions he can actually play at a top level he may score or set up Sterling for a winner.

Put whoever you want up top none of the options are good right now, but don't cripple Palmers game by doing so.

At least its another game to get returning from injury players game time and useless signings the same

I thought the first half today was great, as said above a few thousand times all that was missing is players that can take their chances, they do exist and we shall meet some dressed in red next month !

More scorn poured towards 2 bob septic tank owners who splurged the most money on transfers in 3 consecutive windows ever seen in global football history and did not as we, the  piss taking media and all opposition clubs fans know purchase a proven goal scorer of a mature enough age to not bottle it. Least Jacko will be back for the LC final never thought Id miss the useless so and so !!
