Fat chance! I wish the club would stop flogging this dead horse; Poch came in last season and Enzo put some pressure on him to be played further forward and he was bang average till he was moved further back. Maresca too has sold the owners on how he intends to get him scoring and contributing more. Issue is this guy has scored 9 goals & 14 assists in 110 career goals. He has picked more yellows than goals + assists.

We overpaid by £60m-£70m and that’s OK, we just need to focus on his strengths in a deeper role.

That’s partly why it’s a big season for him. We definitely overpaid for him but the guy is class. Having Lavia an Caicedo behind him will hopefully allow him more freedom.

We will see but I’m looking forward to seeing how Maresca uses him

Glad this is happening but kind of wanted Diomande or Todibo and hopefully this doesn't stop us doing something like that. If Trev goes we're still down two CBs anyway.

Tosin, Disasi, Badiashile, Fofana and Colwill. We’re not getting huge bids on Badiashile or Disasi, so if we buy another one we’ll have six CB’s for two spots. Dont see how we can afford that with glaring issues at left back, up front and maybe at left wing.

I am still very doubtful that Fofana is going to make it. Hoping massively that I am wrong but I get real strong Paul Elliott vibes. Hoping these injuries don't end his career early.

Yeah, its a massive worry.
Still, IF he can play we already have too many centre backs even without new signings. I really want to avoid the bloated squad syndrome we’ve been struggling with for a while, so hopefully if we sign another CB we have an exit strategy for at least one of the Monaco boys.
And yeah, f**k off Dean Saunders

Yep. To quote our good friend @Gordon Bennett never forgiven the little Welsh c**t for that.

Think the important parts are he is free, a former City academy player (Joe Shields loves those) and most importantly let's us sell Trev for pure profit and we can sell Tosin for pure profit in the future now too.

I would imagine we will try and look for such deals as often as possible to avoid blowing huge wastes of money on the Disasis from bow on.

He is probably Chalobah replacement.

Badi/Colwil - Disasi/Tosin

Fofana 🚑🚑

Judging by the amounts we're tossing at South American teenagers it doesn't look like we'll stop overpaying for unknown players. Our management are like kids in a candy store, they just keep wanting more and more of the same. It looks like they'll keep milking the academy in the name of pure profits till the tap runs dry and keep signing Man City products just because they know how to play Pep football. Earlier the obsession was with Brighton products and when it didn't work out the obsession has shifted to Man City after Palmer succeeding with us.

Gk  TRAFFORD

Surely you jest? You didn't see him flapping around in goal for Burnley? Until Kompany finally woke up and dropped him? Excellent for England U21s but has seriously struggled to step up to PL level.

Just to show that his pace for a lanky CB is really good, check this. Van de Ven, will certainly top the list now surely, but Tosin's pace is really underrated. Has all the tools needed for a CB in a possession based team who also would like to play high line.

Nope.

i said I reckoned Trafford will be our keeper next season.

i also said I’d prefer a much more experienced keeper instead.

Oblak could be leaving Athleti and he’d be my choice

Trafford is a highly rated goalkeeper. A Prospect for that list of 'generational talent'.  He is In the England squad for the Euros. Kompany struggled in the PL and he got Burnley relegated and he still landed that fancy job in Germany.  I think Trafford is a great prospect, but we already have that GK prospect in Solina - you are right - Another great young prospect is probably the last thing we need. We need a gk ready to play now.

Assuming the left back is the one to invert:

James/Fofana/Disasi

Fofana/Tosin

Colwill/Badiashile

Would be my guess on how our other defenders are organized.

Unless we can sell Disasi and/or Badiashile

Apparently we almost loaned Badiashile to Milan in January.

Disasi and Badiashille are okay. I like the commitment of Disasi.

All out Cbs are young, erratic and prone to some real mistakes and blunders though.

Hopefully, Tosin will do well for us - he is fast and that always helps.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Badiashile is sold this summer. Think somewhere around £25m would get our book value back, and he’s probably worth more than that.

Agree on Disasi. He’s not someone to be starting every game but he’s useful in the squad and he brings some emotion in a good way.

I would keep Badiashille over Disasi. I agree that Disasi is a better defender currently but I see so much potential in Badiashille, he has such a commanding figure and he’s pretty fast. If he can cut out his mistakes and build on his confidence with the ball, and impose his physicality he could become a very good centre back.

I think you and I have been watching different Badiashielle's. "Commanding" is one of the last words I would use to describe him. I'd rather get rid of both him and Disasi, but if it's only one, I'd keep Disasi, because he's got a bit of that Rudiger-like craziness.

Not going to pretend to know much about him, hope he is a solid addition.

If nothing else, he is probably an avenue to some more 'pure profit' next summer if needed which is probably going to be an aspect of our business model now. Pick up players that stand a chance of contrubuting/young players who could make it, who are out of contract.

Good piece of business this. If he is not for us, someone will surely pay something of him if we just manage to put him in the window.

Agreed, I don't know much about him. But a few good games and we'll have a choice at least. Keep him or sell for profit.

But then again...Very surprised someone young is out of contract and no one is chasing him. How bad is he?

Hahahahaha

I hope this is something our Sporting Directors (team) are good at. Spotting talent and 'moneyballing' a player. His profile could well be very suited with our other Center backs and Maresca's football. If it doesn't work we can move on him as he has a 'Chelsea level' -label on him.

Newcastle were favourites to sign him at one point then we swooped in.  Man Utd were supposedly interested too.

I can exclusively reveal that we are definitely looking at Trafford...
