Looking at how well Santos played 2nd half, and also Gusto creating the goal down the right flank, it is a relied that we hooefully wont see the Santos not playing, and Gusto inverting moving forward.

Enough of the over complications.

I think quoting the great Brian Clough is required: Football is a simple game made complicated by...

Any way, what a joy it was to see center mids play in center mid, to see Full backs hugging the touchline and getting up and down, helping out there more talented winger.

I do however fear for the future.

That’s now two managers they’ve let go whilst brought in their specific players.

Has to be Southgate or Glasner given they are the only ones who play with wingbacks.

Except they don't have any wingbacks, part (but not all) of the reason why Amorin failed.

I've seen some people criticise our players for not publicly saying something nice about Maresca after he left, but why should they? He's walked out on them in the middle of the season.

Our players have made comments that are the usual ones about any manager that leaves a club . " Great to work with ' 'Sorry to see him go " etc etc , there's nothing to criticise our players for really. . .

Come on you BLUES!

He’s walked away from a potential 14 million payout, hmmmm interesting

The head coach of Chelsea won’t get his contract paid in full under most circumstances anymore.

Compensation will probably be more of a pre agreed figure considerably smaller than the contract value I reckon. And if they aren’t weighting the manager’s contract in their favour then they are bigger idiots than I thought when you consider Maresca’s and Rosenior’s lack of experience

Maresca releases a statement for the first time since his departure.

“LEAVE THIS WORLD A LITTLE BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT”

My journey with Chelsea began with the preliminary rounds of the Conference League.
I leave with the inner peace of leaving a prestigious club like Chelsea where it deserves to be.

I want to thank all the Chelsea fans for their support over the last 18 months.
Support that was crucial to achieving Champions League qualification, winning the Conference League, and winning the Club World Cup.

Victories that I will always hold in my heart!

A special thank you to all the players who have accompanied me on this wonderful journey.

I wish everyone who has shared every moment with me every success in this second half of the season and in the future.

Thank you, CHELSEA 💙 from me and my family.

"Left the club where it deserves to be"... On the brink of elimination from the CL and struggling to make top 4. Nice one.

Or the glass half full version : "Well placed to qualify for the next stage of the champions league, in the qualifying places in the PL for next year's CL, and still in the hat to win two domestic cup trophies ! "

If we f**k all that up it's Liam's fault LOL

We were definitely on a downward trajectory as we’d gone from looking to be already qualified for the CL knock outs to now needing to win our last two games and being in title contention to now hanging on as several teams have caught us up whilst the gap to the top three continues to grow.

Whatever people think of Rosenior’s appointment, Maresca was not exactly doing a great job this season and there seems to be a bit of revisionism going on.

Like I’ve said before, this isn’t the managerial appointment of dreams, but the level of hate being directed at Rosenior is surprising. A reflection of the times I guess.

Or the simple fact he's the most under qualified manager we have appointed in my 50 years following the club. Ridiculous appointment.

I deliberately haven’t passed too much of opinion about his appointment because I simply can’t make my mind up as to if this appointment is a master stroke or a major error.

But sorry your comment regarding qualification I just couldn’t let go without responding.

Not all great player make good coaches/ managers. Indeed perhaps the 3 best 21st century managers in top flight football in England SAF, Jose and Wenger had little to no playing time at the top level. Ironically in England probably the best English players such Bobby Moore& Bobby Charlton had miserable times when they went into management.

I suppose it depends what you mean when you say about qualification but I would argue that Grant, AVB and possibly Roberto had far less qualifications to manage in the PL before they were appointed by RA none had managed in one of the top 5 European league before they were appointed . Then you have numerous examples of

Then if you look back into those 50 years you mention in terms of qualification as a coach ( and not a player) we have appointed numerous individuals who may have decent to excellent playing time but likewise never managed in the top leagues anywhere .Players like Hollins, Porterfield, Webb, Hoddle, Rudd, Lampard , Vialli and yes Meresca

So it’s back to his appointment at this time we simply don’t know enough about him. Of course it may be just PR but there have been some very positive comments about him and his skill set but time to judge probably is at earliest end of season .

No he isnt, Lampard would be that guy, or maybe even Di Matteo. Lampard hadnt managed in top flight football, European competition etc, Robbie had 6 months in the prem. Rosenior has been in the top league in France and European competition.

We could have hired an interim, someone with completely different ideas and see what they can do with this squad for a few months before making a permanent decision in the summer when no doubt other managers will be available as to what direction to head in but that seems far too sensible and requires an open mind and a willingness to change and admit you were wrong.

So

It looks like Enzo was in fact NOT responsible for all the rotations weird decisions etc. they were in fact firced on him to keep the players value up.

Egbahli seems to be the bad boy here along with his SD clowns

Woke up early so I’ve been trawling comments articles you tube etc

No way to run a club and tbh IF it’s true I don’t blame him for walking

I also believed he kept playing all players so they can be seen playing to keep their value up. Such a decision would not be from a coach who wants to win trophies but from an owner who wants to maximise profit to expense if trophies. Will the new manager refuse directions from upstairs regarding who should play? I don't think so. I never liked Maresca's style of play, but the people upstairs are the underlying problem. Nothing will change if these people are still in powers. It is fascinating how these sporting directors are never appear and questioned by the fans and the media.

100%

It doesn’t really make much difference who is coaching at this point! It’s just rinse and repeat when the manager has had enough of being the boards gimp!
