Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2024/25

Featured Replies

We should be in with a good chance of top 4 this season if we can keep our form going.

Spurs - very up and down and their keeper is out now for months

Villa - look like they’ve peaked under Emery. No win in 5 games. Tactics have been worked out.

United for me are the dark horse with their new manager. I think he’ll get them going unfortunately. Lots of dross in that team but prob enough to be top 4/5.

Also read that 5th is likely enough for CL this year.

Howe is their Ranieri/Hughes, they're looking for their Mourinho/Mancini.

Problem is FFP/PSR remains an albatross around their neck. They cannot spend what they need, quickly enough to keep pace. Of course if the clubs vote in line with Newcastle/Man City to remove APT rules, then they will simply prop the club's income up with 'sponsorships' from Saudi companies.

Your 2nd point is the key.

This summer newcastle didn’t  really make any signing.

A lot of Americans do that whole "pick a team every season to support depending on transfers of players, managers and new philosophy of playing or playing style".

I/we are just not used to it, born and bred here, but several ppl actually do that stuff because its "normal". I'm not aware of many other countries/ppl that do that apart from the U.S.

Maybe it also has something to do with clubs/teams moving from one location to another or name changes which do happen over there. And/or it's got something to do with the draft pick too in rgds to other sports that they just applied it to footy.

I can't imagine Brits doing it though...the abuse they'd get from their mates. Lol

If derpy Tiger that looks like confused Klopp doesn't tickle you then no explanation will change that.

Dybala is such a beautiful player to watch. So elegant and smooth.

The whole game is being played at a tempo that we could only dream of on tonight's showing

For one of the so called biggest teams in world football, United's European record isn't anything special compared to the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Barcelona or Milan. I would argue ours is better. We are one Champions League behind them, but we also have 2 Europa League to their 1, 2 Super Cup to their 1, and 2 Cup Winners Cup to their 1.

The sports media is just trying to keep up with social media which is wrong. On balance social media is more powerful due to numbers and access unfortunately. But it's making sports media dumb down to their level.

Man utd and Liverpool are the media darlings. Its not blinkers or paranoia, its numbers and data. They can generate the most clicks. Even stupid comments like above.

Look at the whole amorim/Ed sheeren rubbish. Blown way out of proportion by the public which in turn generates clicks if the media milk it, which they did.

(Just fyi, A decent presenter would have actually brought sheeren into the discussion as an Ipswich staff member*.)

But as every man/woman/etc and their dog* has access to social media it's turned into a fkn story worthy of "world" news! Smh.

*Apparently he's not only a share holder but an active member of higher management in the sales, media & PR departments.

p.s. you can tell i've woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. It's going to be a sh*t day.

Morning all...lol
