I think Newcastle will grab 5th. No Europe, so only one thing to focus on, Villa have the FA Cup and Champions League, so could slip up in between those games, and I don't trust us seeing as we have looked awful for months now.

Tomorrow will be telling.

Maresca banged on how he needed players back, and now he does. Will either see a clear improvement in performance or more of the same. If the latter, it’s already finished.

So many cheats in football, Nunez through on goal and Pickford chops him down, whistle had already gone for a foul back in Liverpool half

Pickford not knowing grabs his leg pretending to be injured thinking he had given away a pen, Nunez rolls off the pitch injured

Ref tells pickford a foul had been given and Pickford miraculously recovers, meanwhile Nunez is told by his teammates to roll back on the pitch, which he does and then cries when the ref books him

See Brighton got a 3-0 beating last night after their FA Cup exit at the weekend.

They could do with playing us again so they look like vintage Brazil and to get their season back on track.

Goes to show how wrong Arsenal got it with Emery, Villa are playing some of the best football in the league and getting the results to match.

Has there been a more impactful January window than the one they’ve just had?

We don’t deserve Top 4 as teams like Villa & Newcastle are so much better to watch.

Hell it won’t happen but I’d much rather see a Top 4 of Liverpool, Forest, Villa & Newcastle based on the football they play actually not being boring carbon copies of each other to varying degrees a la Peps City to Artetas Arsenal to Folicle Fergies Chels. Boring.

KDB just announced he is leaving City this season.

Always will be regarded as the one that got away. In my opinion, he’s been the best player in the Premier League this past half a decade. Maybe even more.

Where do you guys rank him in the Prem’s greatest midfielders?

Glad it’s finally over, once Salah goes, that’ll be the end of that chapter finally.

Can’t stand those all-time talks, as it’s alway based on that persons bias, what club they support, nostalgia etc. They’ve been using images of him lifting the UCL today for the media rounds, but he literally did nothing in both UCL finals and came off injured in both games too. Wasn’t there for Belgium and their ‘golden generation’ in the moments they desperately needed him either.

Greatest midfielder to have ever played in this league. Lampard comes next and then Gerrard.

I give it to De Bruyne because of two reasons. First - he could have played in every PL era since the 30's until now and still look like the best midfielder in each one. And second and most important for me personally is that De Bruyne is the first one that comes to my mind when I think of replacing one of Xavi, Iniesta or Busquets in that Barcelona midfield. It's the best midfield that football has ever seen and if there is one player to slot in there and keep the quality of that trio, then KDB it is without a shadow of a doubt for me.

Not entirely his decision according to the BBC.

Once again i watch Everton and think that Jarrad Braithwaite is a better centre half than anyone ww have on our books. Really merits a place in the England squad.

Is that the big ginger? He does catch the eye.

Yes checked that's him I agree and he's right in our age range (22).

If he only played for Brighton there might be a chance we'd buy him.

Watching Ipswich v wolves, wolves get an indirect freekick on edge of the 6 yard box, all 11 players on goal line can someone with a brain explain WHY the taker doesn’t just shoot as hard as possible at the goal, as the ball will hit someone and their is a massive chance it will go in

But as usual someone decides its better to flick it to someone and the chance is gone as everyone is virtually on the ball when it is struck

SURELY PLAYERS SHOULD BE TOLD TO JUST SHOOT

I think as it’s awarded as an in-direct free kick it has to be passed to someone else.

It isn’t that much of an advantage for the attacking team IMO.

I’m sure the keeper didn’t even get booked for using his hands either.

All very strange.

No it doesn’t need to be passed, if it goes straight in the goal it’s disallowed if it takes a touch off someone it counts

But its a good job the keeper didnt get booked as he then got booked for running out of his goal to block the freekick before the kick was taken

Right up there with the best. I don't think anybody can question it really. Lampard, Scholes, Gerrard, Fabregas, De Bruyne is easily in that group.

I didn't realise Newcastle had a game in hand. We are going to need to go on a really good run, because I don't see us holding them off. I don't see us finishing ahead of City. As bad as they have been at times this season, their fixtures are a lot easier than our. There is also Villa who seem to be really pushing. We really need a late fall off from Forest.

Yep, kind of how I see it.

I still think Forest are catchable, especially if we were to win tomorrow.

I think by hook or by crook if we can get to 67 points we’d make the top 5.

What was the name again of the player from an obscure country, bought by Man Utd last January window, who gifted a goal within 5 minutes and got booked within 10? Has he ever played again?

That was Manchester City right?
