For example the albatross of Raheem Sterling returns at the end of the season, and he is on big wages. I cannot see any way we will shift him on without a big loss. Then we have tough decisions to make over some of our perennial crocks in Fofana and Lavia. Groan, I'd forgotten about Sterling coming back. Not to mention likes of Broja, Chilwell, Felix, Kepa, Fofana (the list goes on) all coming back

February 9, 20251 yr We're gonna have a training centre looking like Notting Hill carnival again, come pre season.

DD is out until next season, why he was recalled so we could loan out Felix.

The transfer fee will be between 20-25 million depending on performance this season. The obligation ties us in if we finish above 14th place. Logic for which baffles the mind, as IF he’s our main man on the left and he’s the talisman behind a 14th place finish, how on earth would that be enough to tie him in for 8 years! on let’s say 150k pw, if indeed he has decided he’s not good enough for his previous 300k ballpark. Genius negotiations. 😅 It’s the stuff of sitcoms. It should have been European place obligation not 14th place.
February 11, 20251 yr Don’t quite get the hate toward Sancho on this forum, granted he’s not tearing it up with the G/A’s but his strengths when we’re actually playing well compliment those around him, his quick feet and link up play with other like minded individuals (see Palmer, Enzo) has opened up plenty of defences, the issue being his lack of a shot or the fact that the final pass will be to a Jackson who’s isn’t exactly proficient himself. For £25M in the current climate, a player of this quality is perfectly good business. Neto cost nearly twice as much and hasn’t looked half the player in his many appearances for us (albeit the Wolves Neto looked like the next big thing) Its the dire system and piss poor man management of Maresca that is skewing people’s views of some of these players.
February 11, 20251 yr I see Sancho has caught some attention with his reply to Rashford on social media. Why can't he just shut the f**k up and keep it private? You weren't exactly innocent and well behaved in your time at United, and sticking up for that pr merchant isn't a good look.

He needs to be taken off before half time.... if he is being rubbish we will know in the first 10 minutes, how can he criticise his old club when he didn't even try

He hasn't opened up a lot of defences at all, he's played the odd pass here and there in the box to players feet, but more often than not, he takes forever on the ball and doesn't do anything with it. He's way down on the list of big chances created in the league, he's not even in the top 50. Funny that you compare him to Neto and say Neto hasn't looked half the player, but he has created as many big chances as Sancho, scored more goals too. Sancho isn't good enough in the Premier League. He's not strong enough or quick enough for it, and any time things get a little bit tough, he disappears. Also, it's not just on here he is getting a lot of criticism. It's everywhere now. His poor performances and now his reply to Rashford are catching attention all over. Edited February 11, 20251 yr by Scott Harris

He did something similar at the start of the season too if I remember correctly. He was part of that toxic environment created at United, we don't need any of that here. We have enough issues as it is.

He's not wrong, but coming from him, with his behaviour and his performances at United, it would have been best just to shut up. He's needlessly put himself in the headlines for the wrong reasons.....and not for the first time in his career.

A few of our Chelsea lads may pine for that freedom as well, but that's for another day.

Then we had a player like Duff, Joe Cole, Robben, Pedro and/or Willian parked on on bench fresh to come on. Neto and Sancho are not fit to lace their boots. Neither is Madueke.
February 12, 20251 yr He is a talented player, but I'd like to see him impose himself more on games like Hazard did. I know Hazard was a different beast to most players, but I'd like to see Jadon use his ability he has more. But as has been said, for what we are looking to pay for him at the end of the season, and also considering the money we've spent on other players, it's peanuts in today's market.

Neto has pace going for him, but I can’t see it with Sancho. Is there actually any other winger playing for a top 6 team with no pace? With most teams sitting in a low block, and double teaming wingers you need that extra burst to give you some distance.

February 12, 20251 yr Both those mins per G/A for Sancho and Neto are worse than we saw from Sterling in 23/24., and even more so if we make it on PL only.
