Jadon Sancho

The Jadon Sancho situation says so much about BlueCo. and their aspirations.

To have a clause that even considers a 15th place finish with options is very negative from a footballing perspective.

Lucky for Sancho he didn't go on loan to Tottenham LOL.

If we keep the same manager, no point worrying about what any of our wingers do. They are hamstrung from the first whistle.

Literally or...?

If he's here next season cool, if hes not, cool...

Much rather we placed George ahead of him but we clearly need more wingers... We need wingers over defenders, a keeper and a couple of strikers.

TBH, think we should sign a team of wingers and play them in every position.

In a world where Palmer won’t ever play on the wing I just don’t understand it.

Estevao is no where ready and George looks to be replacing the drug mule’s spot. Fine. We then have Neto & Noni who aren’t technically special in any way nor are they consistent. 4 good squad players, and we want to add another one? And Garnacho!!??

Don't forget that they've promised Estevao that he can play at #10, presumably because the plan is to sell Cole Palmer LOL

Completely forgot we have that sporting lad who also is coming the following season, and will be forced to play the opposite side.

6 squad option wingers. 7 if we follow through with Garnash*t.

Hate these twiddle dee bellends.

Muduryk is gone. Noni most likely too but lets assume he stays for whatever reason we have him, Neto, Sancho, Estevao and George. We are in the market for a top winger apparently so 6. Seems fine to me.

The “top winger” you’re speaking of is either Plain Jane Garnacho or injury stricken Gittens (who in all honesty is just George with minutes).

So in 9 months time when we are complaining about the lack of productivity from our wingers, and inevitably putting too much pressure on Estevao to produce, I can assure you it won’t be fine to you anymore.

Sideways moves. Never raising the ceiling. Thats all we are doing under this ownership.

His overall contribution has not been good enough for a top level team. Don't see it improving, probably best to attempt to sell him for profit asap. We have plenty of medium quality wide players.

I’m supporting the idea behind what I believe to be how the club plans to address the wingers going into next season.

If we do sign a Garnacho then I’ll obviously be disappointed but no point complaining about something that hasn’t happened yet.

Apparently we have activated the clause and paid 25m to keep Sancho.

Great move imo. He’s had a decent 1st season for us with 10 assists despite Maresca shackles.

At the very worst he’s a squad player.

If you think he has had a decent season just because he has 10 assists, then you're watching the stats, not the player. Even if we did just look at the stats, it's not impressive once you add some context. His first 5 assists came in his first 3 games. In the following 23 league games, he contributed a measly 3 goals and 1 assist. The other 4 assists came against really poor Conference League teams.

Lets ignore the stats entirely and look at his overal contribution to a game. You often don't notice he is on the pitch, and when you do, it's just tap tap tap tap tap, play a 5 yard pass backwards. His shots are usually tame or he doesn't shoot at all. His crossing is sh*t, it's so bad that he doesn't even seem to attempt many of them. He can't take on a full back because he is too slow and weak. His only quality is ball control, and he doesn't do anything with it.

As far as nothing players go, Sancho is right up there with the worst offenders. Signing him, even as a squad player, is a useless signing when you can't rely on him 9 times out of 10. If he is anything like a regular starter next season, then we won't make much progress. If we start next season with Sancho and Jackson taking up two of our attacking positions, and Maresca is manager, then you may as well just give up on the season entirely, because we won't finish in the top 10.
