May 13, 20251 yr If the reports are true and we are taking the fine, surely, surely we will make a genuine Eghbali effort for Rodrygo?

May 13, 20251 yr If he was willing to lower his wages I thought we’d make this permanent as it’s quite a deal. For all our wingers, he probably has the best ball retention also. Ideally more end product and consistency, but all our wingers are guilty of that, and most in world football nowadays are similar. If we move on, I’d hope Paez and Estevao really get a chance; although think Paez will be loaned. Then there’s the young Portuguese kid next summer also.
May 13, 20251 yr Struggle to get my head around it if we dont sign him. We pay £20-£30m for completely unproven teenagers, and here we have a player who has done ok and we are taking a £5m hit. Essentially we have the chance to sign hom for £20m (given £5m will already be committed to the "fine". I fail to believe we couldnt make a profit on him at that price.

If he's going to have little impact on a game and not really contribute much at all to our season, then it's not worth having him around. I would rather gamble on another unknown than sign Sancho on a permanent deal, he's crap.

Not as good as the initial hype, but feel he could play a half decent supporting role.

Sure fire way to make the player not care and give us the Nkunku treatment (if the reports are true of course).

It's not like no one wanted them at all.It is always combination of fee +salary but most of the time salary is the biggest hurdle.Let's just use Disasi who is probably on 100k/week. For top team this is probably below avg but for non top team, this is your star player salary.

What wages would you give to a player you intend to flog as a squad option? £50k/w? £75k/w? Is Sancho going to take a 80% cut in wages to stay in London? His stock has dropped badly that no top club is interested even at a bargain price.Saw a scary stat yesterday that he has the worst crossing accuracy in the league with players who have attempted 20+ crosses, he has 0.0%. Doucoure is the player after him with 4.3% and he is a CM. For a winger that is appalling, and it isn’t a case of not having a decent front man. Crosses don’t always have to be high.This.Sancho reported fee is around 20m. Even team like palace can pay that money but no chance they can pay his salary, that will absolutely destroy their salary structure. Edited May 14, 20251 yr by Bob stark

This is probably as good as it gets for him football wages wise, best thing is to go back to Utd for his last contract year and pick up his £15m wages. 2026 he becomes a free agent, he can pick up a reasonable sign on fee somewhere and be on a small contract. The only person that benefits if he sign with us this summer will be his agent.

I guess we will see what he values the most come the summer, ambition or his wages.

There is a lot list of players ahead of him, and he would need to put up ridiculous numbers which won’t happen as a squad player.

Players leave all the time in world cup years cause all it takes is 1 good season and you get called up. Similar to how we all know Trent isn't going to win the ballon dor at Madrid but he's still willing to join them for that small chance that he does.

May 17, 20251 yr I honestly think he's been misprofiled for a while. Not only is he played as a winger but under Maresca that means touchline all day. Palmer was the best RW in the league last season, under this system he would have struggled. I think of Juan Mata initially playing as a RW. Imagine if he struggled and pundits were similarly questioning why he wasn't effective on the outside. Sancho has the acceleration of minibus. Why would you expect such a player to be taking on PL fullbacks. Play him as a 10 where his options are maximised or change the system.
