I think personally he's as likely to break into the england team going back to united and seeing what happens, as there is staying here. But he's going to earn 3x more money at united next season and probably as much for the next 5 years if he has a good season somewhere.

Ruben might also be more willing to use him then ten haag was.

He's never going to play under Ruben, I'm pretty sure he has fallen out with him too and why he was loaned out in the first place.

Second season at United - 26 league appearances, 6 goals, 3 assists.

Sorry, but I struggle to see how anybody can be mad that this signing hasn't gone through. If he had been signed on the permanent deal, he would have just become another problem. Going for Gittens and Ekitike are bad moves in my opinion, but that doesn't make sending Sancho back a bad one too.

He’s been favoring Mount anywaf since he got back to full fitness and I doubt that’ll change. With Cunha coming I expect it’ll be even more difficult for Sancho to start.

His wages are not 300k a week, they are often stated at "more than" 300k a week, with 350k often suggested.

As BJ said ride out the last year, collect the 10.4 mill (over 5mill after tax) then go to somewhere else on a free.

I said previously at 25m he’d have been a solid backup/ squad player. Thing is though you can’t have that type of player sitting on a 15 million per year contract. For his part I can’t blame him for holding out for the wage he is currently earning, he gets in one year what we’d pay in three, with the option of being a free agent at the end of his contract, no brainer really.

United are either going to be scrambling June 30th or they’re going to take the wage deduction on the chin. Absolute mess of a club.

Extended it because he would have been out of contract, on a free, at the end of the loan.

Maybe there’s a gentleman’s agreement with Sancho.

Next year when he becomes a free agent, we can give him a signing on fee and then give him 100k a week.

I’m not going to lie, I feel really disappointed in Sancho, the fact he wouldn’t budge on his wages. It really feels like a waste of his career.

Had a full season to make that left wing role his own, but never quite had the balls to finally start taking on defenders and dribble past them at every chance he got. He is great in tight spaces and can glue the ball to his feet, but what's the point if 9/10 passes are always backwards???

Thierry Henry's analogy in the latest Overlap podcast is very good. He said he failed so many times to dribble past defenders like Carragher, but nobody remembers this, people only remember the times he dribbled past defenders and not the failed attempts because he never stopped attempting a dribble and if you never stop, you will have success and people will only remember the times you made a dribble and created a goal or a big chance, rather than the times the defender was better than you.

Sancho is the opposite.

The board did the right thing.

Yeah that's true. A shame because clearly that's a psychological problem. But it's looking like he wont' overcome it. maybe in a lesser league. Also - he genuinely thinks he's an amazing footballer. Wasn't keen on 100k a week and a squad player role

He has no pace and can’t shoot, can’t see what anyone else is seeing. He needs to move back to the Bundesliga or Serie A where he will have space to exploit.

Why would anyone be disappointed in any football player not taking a paycut? Short career, high expenses. This is the last year of his biggest contract in football, no agent will tell you to leave around £10m on the table for 1 year.

True. Is Madueke that much better though?

Not too bothered about not keeping him. He only managed 3 league goals against Spurs, Southampton and Ipswich in 31 appearances.

My biggest issue is who we might get to replace him. Likely more unproven youngsters for massive transfer fees. If we're not getting proven wingers I'd much rather keep him than take another expensive gamble.

Dribbling is one thing but having speed at the very top level just puts Madueke in a different bracket, if Madueke ever figures out how to shoot or exploit the angles better, we'd have a potential Salah on our hands

Double his transfer fee to 50m and double his G/A stats for us. 6 goals 10 assists from left wing. Not bad. If we cant get that as a minimum from Gittens, we should've just kept Sancho.
