No idea about this player, 40 million for a 20 year old seems expensive - I'd simply prefer the space this guy takes up to be given to Tyrique George to develop. No doutbing this is a Mudryk replacement but the club can surely see we have a developing player on our books. Who do we sell to accommodate Gittens?

Wont be missed... Pretty sure we have cover and for all his sins, Jackson could fill in out wide left where he started. The idea of spaffing another 40 million on a player with little to no experience leaves me cold.

Issue is they also intend to sign one of Etikite, Pedro & Kudus and also have Quenda coming in the summer.

What is the plan? He needs regular pitch time to develop, and IMO he isn’t good enough to be a starter. Looking at the state of our wingers; paying £55m for a bench player is ridiculous.

I think people are underestimating how good Gittens is and how good he can become, but I definitely get that people think we could have done with someone more experienced. But as someone mentioned, we have Quenda coming in next season who looks great and seems to be a player we have big plans for so spending money on a Rodrygo or giving Nico Williams the rumoured near £300k a week doesn't make much sense.

But it's the fee and wages combination. We're having our pants pulled down willingly by the clubs because the players are willing to accept 100k pw. The reason being that their current salaries illustrate what they are truly worth.

Hadn’t realized how massive he is. Saw his comp against us in 2023 and he towered James.

One positive I will say about him is that I think he will offer more than Sancho. Gittens has good close control of the ball like Sancho, but he has pace, something Sancho doesn't have.

Agree! Not sure a winger without pace can thrive in the PL.

At least Sancho had a high football IQ and the ability to spot a pass, his only hindrance was his lack of pace for the PL.
