June 8, 20251 yr So essentially a downgrade from Sancho and no improvement on Madueke. Remember the days of Robben & Duff?

Any winger with pace and willing to shoot is an upgrade on Sancho IMO. Ask Utd fans and there is zero interest in Sancho from other clubs.
June 8, 20251 yr Has there ever been a strikers/forwards that has come from the German league and done really well in the Prem? I’m honestly struggling to think of any.

June 8, 20251 yr Honestly, if we're throwing money at him or Kuddus I'd be disappointed. Could easily go for Mbeumo or Rodrygo and set us up for a really good front 3

Seems the vast majority flop from the German league. Don’t forget our very own Nkunku. I would argue Harvertz was a flop when you compare him to the hype. He didn’t live up to it really.

June 8, 20251 yr Author I think we all want some genuine nailed on quality as possible. None of these Gittens, Ekitike, Delap really move the needle. Yeah potential but we’ve already got 3 teams worth of that. All I’m asking for is about 4 quality experienced players. GK, center back, striker and a winger.

June 8, 20251 yr A lot of posters made up their minds already regarding Gittens.Baffling. Give the fella a chance.I’m not saying he’s going to succeed or fail but I’ll keep my powder dry u til he signs and then after he’s played 10 games or so.

Mbeumo asking Man U for a quarter of a million a week and he’ll probably get it. Rodrygo will be getting even more if he moves on.Times have changed

I’m guilty as much as most for making judgement calls on a player without seeing him in our system but more on the positive side rather than the negative. For instance I think Estevao is going to be a big player for us but I can’t back that up with anything until he plays but I’d never write off a player signing for us until he gets here and gets his chance. We’re a fickle bunch.

Not listened to the warnings and "see what happens" look at the mess we are in after buying terrible players, we must have known how bad their decision making and not being able to control the ball etc was before we bought them but we still went ahead

New reports are emerging that his salary is closer to 150k/wk not including add-ons. That's easily within our budget for both, just need to retweak to performance based bonuses.

June 9, 20251 yr Need to see more of him to get any sort of impression, but it’s just a repeatable pattern on young promise. We already have Estevao and Paez this summer, although expect the latter to go on loan. Then Quenda next year. Successful teams get a lot of out from their wide players now. We need more of that. Unsure if Gittens is the answer.

Estevao has just turned 18 having broke records in the Brazilian league, making waves in South America and has already been called up to the national team. Whereas Gittens is older with less impact and contributions in the league and despite now having a German England manager (who must watch plenty of Bundesliga) is yet to call him up. Yet Tuchel calls up Madueke a head of him, and we all know Noni is not good enough. If we want to move on from borderline top 4 we need to recruit better players not the same hopefuls. If Gittens turns out to be worse than Sancho we're going backwards. Hope I'm wrong about Gittens but Im not going to be celebrating this one.
June 9, 20251 yr We won't achieve anything with this board, and sporting directors. Too much focus on winning tomorrow, and not enough on winning today.Bayern Munich also need a right footed left winger, and there short list consists of Barcola, Leao, Williams, Mitoma, and id expect them to add Rodrygo to that list if he comes on the market. Maignan is good buisness if it gets done, but we have so many players between the age of 16-22 now, that its hard to get excited by another one that hasn't come close to justifying what we will have to pay to get him.Why not trust George to back up someone who is actually ready to push for a title challenge next season. I was hoping champions league would lead to a different approach, but instead of targeting 3/4 established quality players that have proven themselves at international and champions league level, it looks like some more rolls of the dice. Let's see how the summer goes.

Do they not understand that everyone has access to the same well. They're not going to make bundles on all of these hoarded kids because the people who have the money to afford them, have all been doing the same themselves.
