Didnt want Cherki - so not fussed about him going to Citeh. Strikes me as a 2nd tier player - more Ben Arfa and Payet than Hazard or Robben.

@Valerie Any info on Noa Lang? Probably isn't a target or even good enough (also "too old"), but I remember watching him once in a while and thought he could do a job in the PL.

Kudus & Semenyo; you put this obsession with right footed left winger aside, and you could shift either Neto or Madueke permanently to LW, and sign Mbuemo.

Gittens won’t be coming in as a starter anyway, and requires a lot of development. Shouldn’t even be an option if we are a serious club.

I actually think it's a great strategy.

The fact that Chelsea and City graduates seem to make up half the sought-after players across Europe isn't an indictment on the clubs that buy then, its an indictment on City and Chelsea for failing to integrate talented academy players instead of pursuing the latest hype.

Is he actually any good though, both Sancho and Werner looked like world beaters in the Bundesliga

Hugo Lloris was France's No.1 keeper before Mike and he wasn't anywhere near a trophy at the club level.

Sanchez isn't any better but Maignan is a lateral move at best imo

Well he didn’t start for Dortmund today, maybe because of the transfer debacle but from his small cameo appearance I’d rather bring Chucky back. Looked better in the same amount of time they were both on the pitch.

What is this obsession with City academy graduates? Are we trying to organize a reunion? I know Joe Shields has some influence behind the scenes but hitting the jackpot with Palmer doesn't automatically mean every City youngster will be a success. What other club is even interested in Gittens and why are discussing some crazy amounts given how little he's accomplished so far?

Overpaying for a proven established top class player I can understand. Paying over the odds for potential time and again is lunacy.

Not convinced he is, he is just another body. You watch his highlights and he has acres of space to exploit in the Bundesliga, he isn’t going to get that in PL especially playing for a top team.

I can see it £45m for Nkunku and £65m for Garnacho job done Gallagher/Felix style balls up.

To make it even crazier, we are doubling his wages from £50k/w, to around £100k/w. How does that even happen when we are competing against no one for his services.

For a player that has never scored 10 league goals, he cost more than Doue, Kvaratskhelia, & Cherki.

Don't know why the club is so insistent on this guy. 7 years?? The only player on the wing that deserve 7 years is Hazard!
