I think people look at Mbuemo and because he is fully bald now and looks older, people just assume he is older. He is 25, yes. LOL. Not old at all.

But signing a bunch of kids just means yo-yoing in and out of the Champions League, never competing amongst the very best and losing out on massive money through prize money and sponsorships. Also, as we are seeing now, the majority of these young players are going to be hard to sell for profit in the future anyway. So even from a financial point of view, it's not going to work out.

😂😂

The reality is from financial pov he is old. He was born in 99 so he is 26. Let say you sign him for 6 years, after 4 years he will be 30 and his value will be very low.

The goal of signing this young player is not to make profit. Simple example, you sign a 100 m st, if it works out all good but if it doesn't, it is impossible to move him, you have to pay his gigantic salary and you need to spend more money to get his replacement.

But let's say you spend it on three 40 m attacker and only one of them works out. You can probably sell the "bad" one for 20m each. You get a decent st on cheaper salary and you still have 40m in the bank.

This sounds crazy but you have to look at our club not as traditional football club but more of a financial entity. Winning thropy is one of the goal but not the main goal.

What you're not taking into account though is that financial growth of the players only really occurs through playing. With a reasonable limit on squad size and the limits around the numbers of loan players both by age, and to Europe there is still only a finite number of instances you can employ your tactic of stockpiling.

Let's say Mbeumo cost 60m, under your contract terms it would amortize at 10m a year. But we would be getting the benefit of an experienced, PL conditioned player for those four years. No real development or waiting and seeing needed. Just improvement from working within the team. Its an intangible value that is often overlooked but very important nevertheless. If we didn't take into account the intangible benefit of usage of our assets nobody would ever buy a car.

At the end of four years we would then be looking to sell a 30 year old for in excess of 20m to make a book value profit and luckily there are still enough clubs in the market that would place a similar value on paying 30m, say, on a proven, marquee 30 year old player and amortise that over 3 or 4 years.

It doesn't fit the BlueCo model because the value added in this deal is the intangible value that the quality of the player brings. In the BlueCo model you describe it remains just horse trading which, whilst potentially profitable overall kills any bond between the fans and the players and therefore the club because it is merely a trading vehicle.

Far too much common sense in there for BlueCo LOL.

What beggars belief even more is that the whole model is predicated on the huge trust placed in Winstanley and Stewart to identify the right players. Foundations built on sand ...

I think people are underestimating how good Gittens is and how good he can become, but I definitely get that people think we could have done with someone more experienced. But as someone mentioned, we have Quenda coming in next season who looks great and seems to be a player we have big plans for so spending money on a Rodrygo or giving Nico Williams the rumoured near £300k a week doesn't make much sense.

"underestimating how good he is"

"how good he can become"

"big plans"

Almost hitting the BlueCo Bingo here, just needed to throw in a comment about how Roman is gone and we should stop living in the past.

I’m increasingly sure Stark and Evissy are actually Todd and Eghbali.

The amount of abuse received when you're not being a sheep of negativity, is disgusting. I have been called a banned poster on here, directors and etc. People have differing opinions you know!

The abuser will be abusing. What's new?!

And that (which you quoted) was my opinion that was different to yours. And it was also tongue in cheek (hardly abusive) and I'm sure Bob and Evissy aren't losing any sleep over my comment.

Beyond that, you are right, there is quite a bit of scepticism about the way the club is being run now, but sometimes the the arguments made at at the opposite end of the opinion scale are just as head scratching with what sometimes seems like blind faith or club propaganda.

All I know about him is these youtube compilations, but hoenstly they don't look impressive. Most of the clips of him beating a player, then it goes to the next clip, because nothing happened after that, no shots or assists or anything, otherwise they'd keep that part in.

agreed - the clips show very few plays that end with an end product. Mudryk also has a cracking highlights reel...
