The second worst performance we have faced, the other being West Ham.

90 minutes playing a back 9 in their own stadium, 3 shots created in total, nothing from open play. This in the context of a big summer spend, a European trophy, and a new manager. Spurs are truly a pathetic club.

I think we were much better tonight than against West Ham. Tactically we were excellent and if Pedro and one or two others had their shooting boots on it would have been a canter.

Today we made Spurs play badly whereas against West Ham we won because they were terrible.

That’s my take anyway.

I think it's a mix of both, because Tottenham were abysmal. I think positionally, we played our best game all season. Cucurella and Gusto were rarely doing any of their wandering off into attacking midfield nonsense that we usually see. It was good old fashioned positional discipline.

solid performance but we need to kill off games when we're in so much control.

Also Sturridge interviewing Pedro like he was a hard of hearing child with learning difficulties was weird.

Why do we even have to play Spurs anymore? Just hand us the three points and be done.

No matter the form we're in or they're in, we always seem to beat them. Even with Cucurella wearing ice skates. 😂

Personally, I think if we had started Gittens and Estevao, we would have been clear by half time. The game was perfect for them on the wings, especially Gittens who loves everything played in front of him.

And done nowt when he come on and blazed over from 10 yards

Yeah, that was sh*t. But I Still think he would have created more than Neto and Garnacho. Garnacho wasn't terrible, but he wasted everything.

Takeaways from today’s game.

We could liquidate, reform, field a team of toddlers and still beat that lot.

JP isn’t a 9.

Gittens isn’t PL ready in the slightest.

Pedro Neto lives off the fact he runs around a lot, pretty naff apart from that.

Trevs new trim is dead.

Caicedo was an absolute bargain and is probably worth 5x that figure now.

You can’t put a price on RJ, he is the best in the world at his position.

Maresca is a dislikable bloke and probably the least suave Italian going.

If Stevie is finally unleashed and CP returns we might actually finally have something going though…

I dont want to take anything away from a great win but that was the sh*ttest team we've played in the league, they were awful.

Not sure about that. West Ham were worse by far.

Good win and a welcome three points. But we’re fortunate we didn’t need a second as our finishing was woeful. Otherwise we looked pretty comfortable at the back and good to see Sanchez dominating on crosses. 2 or 3 nil would’ve been a fairer reflection.

I thought Forfana was really good

He did look good. He's always been good - when he can stay fit. He is one of our few [only] CB's that can hit the ball forward.

Sanchez also had a good game.

Simons was so poor today. We might have dodged a bullet there.

Great to dominate a Frank side. His teams normally cause us problems.

Sanchez was good today. He dominated the box. He’s actually on his best run of form for us.

James suits the quarterback role. A rolls Royce of a footballer.

Caicedo is special. Right up there with any DM we’ve had which is high praise.

I wish Maresca had given Gittens and Estevao a start today. Certainly one of them.

Hats off to Maresca today though. Set up was perfect and we should have won by a few more.

Thought it was an outstanding performance from all players, including the manager. If anything this pisses me off even more. Why can't we play with this energy, passion and intensity in all of our matches. Fantastic pressing throughout. I know they were poor, but they are not poor. We made them play so poorly. Our pressing and intensity meant they had no answer, no choices.

Caicedo an absolute monster, but James, Fofana, Fernandez, Chalobah and Sanchez all outstanding for me today. I felt that our two weakest players were our two widest, but even they contributed. Everybody was excellent.
