Which players should we keep?

Featured Replies

I think the amount of players that need binning off is far too long for a 'which players should we sell' thread, so it's easier and quicker to say who we'd actually keep.

Palmer, Caicedo, Colwill, James, Joao Pedro, Estevao, Hato, Acheampong, Derry.

Even though palmer and Caicedo have been awful recently, these are the players who I'd be genuinely annoyed if we let them go. Every other player at the club should be sellable in my opinion.

Sanchez - Keep as back up for Penders next season. He has his moments but in general, he’s a good keeper.

Reece James, Colwill, Cucurella, Hato, Acheampong

Caicedo, Santos, Lavia

Palmer, Estevao, Derry, Gittens - You may be surprised about the inclusion of Gittens but I see something in him. I think he’s worth holding onto for now.

Joao Pedro, Jackson - Pedro is fantastic. Jackson will do as back up for 1 season.

One of the lowest IQ center backs we have ever had. This is probably the last summer we can rob a club of a big fee for Chalobah. For some reason he still has a decent value in English football. Tuchel taking him to the World Cup will also be a bonus in inflating his value. Granovskaia would have surely robbed a club of at least 45-50M for him in today's market. I know he is a 15M player at best, but she was that good. Don't know if the current clowns in charge can do it, though. Even 35M would be fantastic for this bang average player.

He’s better than Fofana, Badiashille, Tosin & Disasi.

I’d forgot to include Sarr in the list of keeps tbh.

But we’re signing at least 1 CB this summer, Josh & Levi as a starting pair has potential… Trev as the 3rd/4th rotation in that system is perfectly fine.

We're getting battered every week with the likes of Palmer, Caicedo and Cucurella on the pitch so them leaving wouldn't make things worse.

At this point I'm not opposed to anyone leaving. Not a single player is making a difference.

Throw the entire back room set up out of the window and put a simplified, honest, and professional coaching team with a proper manager in place. Focus on the absolute basics of touch, control and accurate passing allied to constant running off the ball from the entire team and we are genuinely 3-4 players away from building a competent team, a unit that would equate to something bigger than the sum of its parts.

But none of this will ever occur. Can't occur cos the real root of the issues, the poison that completely undermines the team doesn't even register within their consciousness. Therefore pretty much the whole lot are disposable where they are at currently., IMHO.

Yeah you're probably correct, but that says more about the awful recruitment than a compliment to Trev. He's just another in a long list of CBs that aren't good enough.

Sarr I feel really sorry for so I'd keep him as well.

This season for sure. Every other season I would have called steady progress for a squad player, but this season is worse than he has ever played. His breakthrough season for us was better than this.

I have to agree, not one I feel should be at our club. They don’t seem to care about us, why care about them?

I’d take the squad that finished 10th in 15/16 that downed tools and all over this lot.

Sell all of them.

BlueCo out.

Sporting directors out.

All coaching staff and Kinetic frauds out.

All players sold so we can start a new with a ownership that cares about winning as well as making money, have a proper coach and players that care about the fans and Chelsea Football Club.

Loads of sh*t players, but the coaching structure that has been in charge of them since maresca is an absolute shambles.

We have effectively given the job to someone who wouldnt be in line for a non league managers jobs.

This is following on from LR who is a mid table championship manager.

All players will suffer under this. Clueless from top to bottom.

Yeah, I know Chalobah is an academy product but I really don't rate him.

I can't think of many other defenders who come to the half way line dive in, miss the ball and then leave the opposition striker with a free run at goal.

I'd say keep him as a squad player but he's pure profit and not worth even keeping IMO.

I'd rather give Sarr more of a chance.

Lol.. just cos you feel sorry for him? Recalling him was a waste of time, needs to be sold to a PL where he will get solid minutes. I would sell him for £25m to a mid table PL team, include a buyback clause at £35m, & a sell on clause at 20%.

Same applies to Josh, twoof Lavia/Santos/Essugo, Gittens, Garnacho, Delap, Guiu. Sell all at reasonable fees, include buyback and sell on clauses. Being out of Europe is a blessing in disguise if we are serious club, as we need a leaner squad. We are never going to be a serious top 4 team if we continue running a crèche. Just focus on developing Hato, Quenda one of Essugo/Santos/Lavia, and Estevao. Unfortunately we are getting another influx of kids in the summer in Denner, Emegha, Satpaev, Quenda and maybe Barco. I would loan out Denner, keep Satpaev only because he is an enigma that needs his role defined, cancel the Emegha deal, and keep Quenda.

Then sell Badiashille, Tosin, one of Fofana/Chalobah, Enzo, & if we receive decent offers Neto & Gusto.

Well it's not so much I'd keep him because I feel sorry for him, it's more I'd keep him because he's highly rated and we've seen hardly anything of him and I'd rather Fofana, Badiashile, Tosin and Chalobah get shipped out because they've shown they aren't good enough.

Struggling to find many id want to keep these days. Even untouchables caicedo(been poor) james(sick note) palmer (looks disinterested).

It’s the coaching set up that’s the main problem, they have no respect for them. Until that’s properly sorted we are not a team and all the players will look sh*t.
