Last Movie You Watched

Just got back from dawn of the planet of the apes. Good film, reminded why I don't usually go to the cinema on a Saturday though.

Had a similar experience, full house, swelltering evening and no air conditioning or any form of climate control, fan etc. Cineworld like to give you the full experience, it smelled like we were sat in the ape house. Good film but flaws in the storyline.

That doesnt sound good at all, I think ill keep well away for now.

Please don't watch any of The Hobbit films; I abandoned the first film when a wizard played by Sylvester McCoy was tearing around a forest on a giant rabbit. I loved the book but the film (I've only seen the first up to that point) was self indulgent rubbish. Imo...

Need for Speed, great action movie if you love cars, actually was surprised how much I enjoyed it thought it was better then the fast and furious movies, aaron paul is just badass.

Anyone seen the new transformers yet?

the Dogville from Lars Von Trier...

excellent movie!!!

10/10... :)

It is indeed!  Have you also seen Manderlay, the sequel?  I think Dogville is better, but would probably give Manderlay 9/10

Finally watched "Mahogany" (1975) the other day. Diana Ross was a real stunner when this was made, looking absolutely gorgeous. Such a shame that the movie was so awful! Or maybe it just hasn't stood the test of time?

I go to a Cineworld, I have an unlimited card :) there was air con but there was also people, teenage boys with goofy laughs, seat kickers, whisphers... Just watch the frickin' film!! If I had paid £9.00 I would not have been happy. Early evening week day showings only from now on.

Divergent.

If you can suspend your belief about the general premise of the society they live in, which is completely ridiuclous, then the rest of the film was reasonably entertaining.

7/10

John Dies At The End - It was pretty good, a sort of deliberately mental semi-coherent comedy/horror from the guy who directed Bubba Ho-Tep (which I would also recommend). The plot was all over the place but seemed to be about a new drug called "Soy Sauce" that gives users super-enhanced senses, including the ability to see into parallel universes, but is also the key to an invasion of strange parasitic things from another dimension, and the two slacker friends who naturally are the only people that can save humanity.

Very funny it parts, if you liked Bubba Ho-Tep or films such as Evil Dead 3 (Army of Darkness) then you might enjoy this.

For the first time I have watched Sexy Beast from beginning to end non-stop - yes I am about 20 years too late, but still it's a good flick.

Love that film. Ray Winstone and Ben Kingsley were both brilliant in it.

At the weekend I watched on Sky the new film "Believe". It's the tale of a young lads football team in 1984 being managed by Matt Busby.

Yes, it was corny, yes it was predictable, Roy of the Rovers stuff but I have to say I enjoyed. Always been a bit of a softy when it comes to films like this but it had that feel-good factor and left you wishing you were still 11 years old again when you just played for the love of the game and dreamed of making it as a pro.

Also so easy to see why Man Utd are such a well supported club as it obviously featured the Munich air disaster and Duncan Edwards etc and even my Mrs who detests football enjoyed it and was asking loads of questions about Man Utd and the players!

Also watch Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel and again it was a really good watch, very easy going and funny.

Ralph Fienes was great in the lead role but some great cameos as always from the likes of Harvey Kietel, Bill Murray and Edward Norton.

I watched that one over the weekend. Rarely have time to sit and watch a film these days....it was okay, very funny in parts. Some nice acting. probably 7/10

The Expendables 3 - 5/10 - being generous for big cast and action scenes.

Awful plot, really really lazy.

And what was it about the first two that gave you any glimmer of hope the third installment would be worth watching?

There was a bit of a storyline (I think?) in the first two. This one was just terrible and lazy.

How was Rousey in it?

Smoking hot, as always...predictably she did a few hip throws and snapped a shoulder via an armbar.

I've seen both the first two and I honestly couldn't tell you what their stories were.

First one they're put on a job by Arnie... Or was it Bruce Willis? Mickey Rourke mumbles something or other and does the world's fastest tattoo, Sly falls for some Asain woman and Jet Lee has a punch up with Dulph Lundron and then some stuff blew up.

Second one Van Damme kills someone far too young to be in the Expendables bordering on age discrimination and despite naming themselves "Expendables" Sly seems to take exception to this. Chuck Norris turns up and then there's a shoot out in an airport with Arnie taking part because he's finished playing politics.

Something like that anyway...

The Expendables 1 was worth seeing for the novelty factor. Expendables 2 was f**king terrible. I can't believe they've stretched the concept to a third movie.
