I see him more like Mudryk's replacement. Unfortunately I think he is going to be suspended for at least two years.

January 14, 20251 yr What exactly are the ambitions of the owners? Because constantly buying young inexperienced players gives us no chance to seriously compete. They will constantly be learning, and you can't have a team constantly learning if you want to qualify for the Champions League every season.

All the initial signings are getting older and maturing so it won’t be an endless process.

I get what you’re saying and I agree we need some experience in the team. However unless we are going to sell players once they hit 25-26 (which I wouldn’t rule out!) hopefully the experience will come eventually. This is a project that’s going to require some serious patience. Eventually we’ll have a team full of experience with more younger players ready to compete for places which is the ideal situation. Really we should have bought experience first then added the youth, it’s not like the youngsters are cheaper. Don’t ask me why but we’ve done it arse about tit and now need to hope the young uns develop on top of gaining the required experience without examples to follow in the team.

The youngsters are much cheaper. Our vets came in at 200,000+ / week most of our young players at 50,000. It's why Sterling, Lukaku, Chillwell and others are so hard to get rid of, they come on massive wages and theres no where to go if they don't produce. Chillwell's at 200,000/ wk, Veiga is at 25,000 / wk

January 16, 20251 yr Brighton are apparently interested in Tosin. Just watch Laurence & Stewart set up a cut price deal for their old friends, especially as we got him on a free, and leave us short of cover in defence. Actually, i think Eghbalhi will have to complete the deal for them so we should be ok.
January 16, 20251 yr C'mon Chelsea. Nkunku back to his old stomping ground. Sesko the other way. Get this done now before Arteta gets him. https://x.com/SamC_reports/status/1879872829782728988

Instead, we build on positions already covered and don't sort out the clear weaknesses of the team.

For years they used to complain about needing a DM.
